Thanks and regards.

Prasanthi Embuldeniya (SJC Sri-Lanka)

Assignment 1

Sun is the main Planet around the other planetory system and the earth which

rotates around its own axies. The two end axies through the surface of the

earth are at the northpole and southpole. This is an imaginary line running

around the earth in the exact middle between the south and north poles. This

divide the earth into two, northern and southern hemisphere. The difference

between the two can be seen the changes of the weather season, in June for

example we have summer in the northern hemisphere but differently change in

winter for southern hemisphere. According to the astronomical factor it is

important whether the lagna ascedant positon, which sign or nakshastra will be

rising on the eastern horizon at the time of birth for taking consideration

measurement of longtitude and lattitude.

Assignment 2

The sun's yearly movement around the earth is divided into two parts called

Utharayana and Dakshinyana. The sun reaches the southern point at the time of

Winter season arrived (Dec 23) that sun does not rise for the particular period

in that area. From there the sun begins to travel northern point but its

delcination gradually decreases and cross the equater at the time (March 21)

when the whole earth become the duration of the day and night is equal. Then

it proceeds towards the northern hemisphere until the point of summer begin.

When the sun comes to northern point of the earth and we have the longest day

in the northern hemisphere and the shortest night. After that declination

begin increasing from the lowest negative degree and coming to the point of

autmn, at this time the sun is equal to zero again and it keeps increasing

positively till the point of winter arrives.

Assignments 3

According to the Parasara mentioned about two classes of heavenly bodies moving

one called planets (grahas) like Sun, Moon, Jupiter, Saturn, Mercury, Venus,

Mars, etc, directly affected the human bodies depending on the movement of

these planets which cause good or bad for human-life. Non moving one called

stars (Nakshastra) there are 27 nakshastra begining from Aswini and ending with

Rewathi. When the moon is moving according to the stars (Nakshastra) gives
