Guest guest
Om Gurave NamahDear Sandy Sarbani is right. For example the bank routing number for ABN AMRO India is 110030003 ..try filling in this number and give some account. You will see that they will not accept it. Try it https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?__track=_flow:p/acc/pro/bank-add:_profile-ach-add-submit Secondly, I am always in trouble trying to get someone to transfer some funds to India. this can be a real headache. fortunately, some of my students are real helpful and do not hesitate. In fact the money doesn't get to me for a long time. That is why I am trying to avoid taking chart readings through paypal and am looking for other avenues. Any ideas would help.SJC cannot do that.Best wishes, Sanjay RathMail: 71 Vasant Apartments, Mayur Vihar Phase-1, New Delhi 110091, IndiaTel: +91-11-2713201; SJC Web pages: http://.org; Personal Web: http://srath.com - Sandy Crowther vedic astrology ; Varahamihira (AT) (DOT) Com ; SJC Thursday, March 20, 2003 7:53 PM [sJC: Achyuta Gurukul] RE: [vedic astrology] FW: [sJC: Varahamihira] To all members: Membership Fees/Jyotish Digest Hare Rama KrishnaDear Sarbani,Thanks for both your email and time...I appreciate it. I understand that SJCdoes not have an account set up for SJC membership payment transfers, whichis fine, and I will do as you suggested for transferring funds. However, letme just address something (with respect to the Indian government) for thebenefit of the members who do have Paypal accounts...Your statement (below) remains quite confusing to me because PayPal doeslist India amongst the following accepted International accounts:http://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=p/gen/approved_countries-outside(Please see countries listed below).vedic astrology; Varahamihira (AT) (DOT) Com; SJCRE: [vedic astrology] FW: [sJC: Varahamihira] To all members:Membership Fees/Jyotish DigestDear Sandy,We cannot use Pay Pal as India does not yet 'recognise' it or providefacilities by which its citizens can avail of the Pay Pal services...yet.Hopefully our government will soon rectify the lacuna, so that it becomesconvenient for people across the globe to have smoother financial exchanges.Anyway, since this is a governmental policy level matter, I can't help youmuch about this. Now there are two ways that you can send checks to SJC. The first is thelonger way; that is, you simply post a check to SJC by snail mail and wedeposit it to the account when it reaches us. The second, is quicker andcheaper for you: this is a bank to bank transfer. Ask your Bank to transferthe required amount directly to SJC's account that we posted on the listearlier. And then there are more cumbersome and expensive methods like MoneyOrder/Telegraphic Transfer and Western Union Money Transfers. It does notmake any difference to us as to how you make the payment. The choice andconvenience is yours entirely. Till the government of India makes Pay Palaccessible to Indians, there is nothing much that we can do to make iteasier for you. If you have any other suggestions on the matter, please letus know, so that we can adopt the easiest process available for theconvenience of all.Best regards,Sarbani Sarkar-----Original Message-----Sandy Crowther [sandy (AT) toad (DOT) net]Tuesday, March 18, 2003 6:40 PMVedic-Astrology (AT) (DOT) Com; Varahamihira (AT) (DOT) Com; SJC[vedic astrology] FW: [sJC: Varahamihira] To all members:Membership Fees/Jyotish DigestSandy Crowther [sandy (AT) toad (DOT) net]Tuesday, March 18, 2003 8:00 AMTo: Sarbani SarkarCc: Sanjay RathRE: [sJC: Varahamihira] To all members: Membership Fees/JyotishDigestDear Sarbani,Please be assured that I only sent you ONE message, and certainly meant nopressure on you. I know you must be very busy with your duties. But pleaserealize that I have no control over how various routers or ISP's handle theoutgoing or incoming mails. My reason for asking you about membership transfers through Paypal isstrictly relative to security purposes when transferring fundsinternationally. Writing a personal check to any bank or financialinstitution, while simultaneously requesting (and trusting) that the moneybe deposited into a specific account at that bank, is not a normal procedureand is highly discouraged by administrative banking officials where I comefrom, which is the USA. However, I will do just that as you requested, byobtaining a Certified or Registered check for security reasons, and thenjust hope for the best. I hope this better explains my position and concerns, relative to thecultural differences in banking practices. My thoughts and concerns are alsorelated to the fact that this type of suggested monetary transfer may resultin actually impeding international participation in financially supportingSJC, if other members also have security concerns over the mode of suggestedtransfer. But this is really none of my business, so I will leave it atthat. I am merely trying to initiate your supportive awareness due tocultural differences in banking practices, and if I have initially hesitatedto date to do as you suggested because of concerns, I am sure I am notalone. I hope you understand now that I merely want to support SJC, withoutthe risk of getting "ripped off" as we say in the USA. Guest guest
Dear Gurudev, I use the following method to transfer funds to India and it takes less than a day and good exchange rate too. I am in the US and transfer funds to an account in ABN-AMRO Bank in New Delhi. So from My Bank I to a domestic wire transfer to ABN-AMRO Bank N.V. 500 Park Avenue, New York, NY - 10022 ABA# 026009580 And then in the wire transfer form I mention further credit to ABN- AMRO BANK, New Delhi, India. And then I give the Delhi Account Number and the Name on the Account. I jusy pay a domestic wire transfer fee and its immediate. Secondly ccavenue.com is a popular payment gateway used in India for online payments. Hope this helps.
