Guest guest
Om Namo Gurubrihaspathaye, Namasthe Gurudeva Sanjay and all SL Students, This is to inform, the fees for ACTIVE SJC-SL Students will be paid by me (3rd world rate) for this year. In fact, this fees were introduced after our workshop and I was unable to inform about this earlier. I still have to pay my fees. But I am waiting for a mail from Sarbani about the Jyotish magazine. Please inform me, then I can make all payments in one. Thanks Karu - Sanjay Rath SJC ; varahamihira Tuesday, March 11, 2003 3:19 PM [sJC: Achyuta Gurukul] Re: [sJC: Varahamihira] Re: Membership Fees Om Gurave NamahDear Sandy, Swee & all, The membership fee for Sri Jagannath Center is US$ 25 and is payable annually. The payment should be made to "Sri Jagannath Center" at New Delhi, India. In case you are sending an international check, please make it US$ 30 to cover transfer and other expenses. For the developing nations and third world in general (countries included are India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh etc), membership is available for INR 500 (Indian Rupees five hundred only) per year. SJC members will receive a 20% or more registration concession in forthcoming workshops and conferences in Asia region. Please keep and eye for the announcement about SJC India Puri conference. Membership is due on the first day of January every year. It is optional and indicative of the support to the work we are doing. It has no bearing what-so-ever on the teaching in the e-mail lists and lessons which shall continue to be given free to one and all. I will be making some announcements in the West coast conference after deliberations with other SJC Guru's. Sarbani in her earlier mail did say that they have a facility where they can cash American checks. I have personally requested this info a few times from various Guru’s and members, but as seems to be a common case when submitting queries of any nature I have received no replies (with the exception of Phyllis). This leads me to believe that this lack of response is perhaps due to the fact that I have not submitted any donation of any kind to either my Guru, or SJC. Please excuse the blatant manner in which I am addressing this subject, but I am just expressing what I have intuitively felt for a few months now, and could be wrong, as I haven’t been here that long…so these are just a few of my personal observations. If I may also make a suggestion, this membership information should be regularly set up to be automatically posted in an email to the appropriate groups, so that new and old members alike will be more inclined to be reminded that organizations are better supported by both donations and funding…no matter how much or how little they are individually in a position to contribute. If this information is also readily available in a website somewhere, where one does not need to invest a serious amount of time going through the entire website to find it, or if it remains inaccessible for those who are so inclined to donate, the participation - and therefore funding, will certainly be strictly limited. In all fairness to the above, I do recall the information being given to me at one point by Swee, but cannot locate that particular email, as it was quite a while back. 10.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial'> field-begin'> AUTOTEXTLIST \s "E-mail Signature" ~Namaste~ Sandy Crowther http://www.jupitersweb.com/ 10.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial'> field-end'> Sanjay Rath [daivagyna (AT) sify (DOT) com]Sent: Sunday, March 09, 2003 10:35 AMVarahamihira (AT) (DOT) ; SJC; Vyasa; Sarabani Sarkar[sJC: Varahamihira] Re: Membership Fees Om Gurave NamahDear Sarbani I was the first one to pay and have paid quite some amount..its my little way to say thank you to Jagannath.
