This is interesting. I would like to have more info on this from you, if

you have any. Is this Yogananda or Lahiri Mahasaya one and the same person

of different? Is it the one we use Lahiri ayanamsa from?

Dear Dhira Krsna Dasaji,

Paramanha Yogananda is a disciple of the disciple of Lahiri

Mahasaya who is a disciple of Babaji, the immortal himalayan yogi.

More info on them can be obtained from his famous

book "Autobiography of a Yogi".

 

Lahiri Mahasaya is not the same Lahiri that gave us the Lahiri

ayanamsa. However one of the disciples of Lahiri Mahasaya is Swami

Yukteshwar Giri who gave an ayanamsa called Yukteshwar ayanamsa,

which states that we are currently in dwapara yuga and gives a

different cycles of yugas.
