Dear B.Laxmi,

I know ,not much, about palmistry but think the reason is that Mount of Jupiter

is situate at the base of Index finger is the reason that Index finger is

treated as finger of Jupiter.

understand why "tarjani" is considered inauspicious, my basic doubts about

reasons for Jupiter's lord ship of index finger still persist.Could it be that

index finger as a "pointer" gives the ability to distinguish and the ability to

judge…remember the Hamsa's (Swan's) legendary ability to separate water from

milk? Hence Jupiter's lordship? BTW, Swee, I am eagerly awaiting your response
