Guest guest
Hare Rama Krishna Dear Sarajit, My wife, who is a Gynecologist & Obstetrician, tells me that the Umbilical card is cut, only after the pulsations in the Cord cease. That is to maximise the flow of vital nutrients/fluids to the baby. The birth time could only be based on a natural event like that. This explains, that if the doctor/midwife delays the cut for any other reason, the birth time will still remain on the exact time of ceasure of pulsations. Hope this explains further, your comment about Lagna & independent existence! Guest guest
|| Jaya Jagannath || Dear Viswanatham, Thanks a lot for providing this information. However, we can't take the ceasation of pulsation as the time of birth. Unless the umbilical cord is cut, the child is not in independent existence. Like other organs such as heart or liver, which are attached to the body, they are said to be independent on their own, only when it is severed from the body. Even if the blood flow stops to the liver, it still remains to be a part of the whole body. Guest guest
Hare Rama Krishna Dear Sarajit, i seem to follow your line of thought. The example of 'Lever' caused some confusion here. Does any organ in our body have an independent existence from the body? From that point of view the coming to independent existence of an infant from its mother seems to be different. Anyway, my thoughts on birth & death are incomplete. i think it is useful to know what is death first. Can anyone throw some light on what is death of human body, when it is supposed to have occured?
