Guest guest
HARE RAMA KRISHNA ------------------ Hi The reason for taking the centers of the planets (modeled as spheres) is that, the ratio of the distance from earth (center) to planet (center) to the radius of the planet is a very large number... So all planets can be modeled as points in space..conveniently However for the MOON, as you have pointed out, the distance from earth, is the shortest compared to all the other planets, which introduces a difference of a order of minutes in the calculations. I do not think it is of the order of degrees like you have mentioned. this difference can be omitted..safely Nevertheless, considering the topocentric coordinates, only for moon, is the most accurate and right way of calculation and is very easy to implement in software programs. , "sramkumar1 <sramkumar1>" <sramkumar1> wrote: > > Please let me know if you have any references on this in the classics > for the grahas. > I am getting confused because the topocentric position of Moon can be > more than 1 degree in difference from its geocentric position and the > dasa/bhukthi calculations can go off. > > Thanks, > Ram > , "R.
