explanation on dual lordship of Aqu asc

Dear Saumya,

I am but a beginner, so would suggest you get advise from more seniors on this

topic to be absolutely sure. Here is my take for whatever its worth. Since you

would want a direct answer: If Rahu is more powerful than Saturn, for a Libra

Asc, Rahu-Venus combination (conjunct, graha drishti or parivartana) will be a

Raaja Yoga.

Having said that I have read somewhere (forget source) that the nodes become

yogakaras when they are PLACED in a quadrant or a trine and JOIN a trine or

quadrant (respectively) lord. So not sure if special case applies to the nodes

and only Conjunct combinations work.

Re: your second example, it does look like a Dharma-Kendradhipati yoga is there.

Re: power of the yoga, there is multiple considerations as I have read. The

planets should be free from afflictions from functional malefics. Rahu has 4th

graha drishti, Jupiter has 8th graha drishti from Mars (6th lord) being an

affliction. So not sure if the power is that high.

Of course, other considerations include degree of aspect/conjunction between the

two as well as the states (combust, debilitation, inimical house, avasthas etc.)

of the planets.

Apologies in advance for any mistakes, but would appreciate it if Gurus correct the same.

A shishya

of Aqu asc

Dear SS,

Thank you for such an elaborate explanation. But still I want a direct answer.

Suppose the combination of Saturn and Venus for Libra asc is a powerful raj

yoga, do you consider Rahu-venus combination for this asc does produce the same

raj yoga, considering Rahu is being aspected by other grahas.

In fact, I have seen a horoscope where Gemini asc and Gemini rasi. So 9th lord

is Saturn and Rahu. Saturn is in Pisces having a rasi aspect with Moon, while

Rahu is in Aries aspected by Jupiter from Leo, Venus from Libra, Mars from

Capricorn and Mercury from Scorpio (planetary as well as rasi ). Sun is in

Saggi.

So in this case Rahu is more powerful than Saturn. Not only that Rahu-ketu

constant appear on Aries-Libra axis in all divisional charts. Now do you

consider Rahu-Jupiter combination of this person is a 9-10th combination, a

powerful rajyoga?

Could you please clarify?

Dear Saumya,

The combination of the 9th and 10th lords can form a powerful

rajayoga because it brings together dharma and karma. The nature of

the planets involved in the yoga will play an important role. This

yoga can manifest strongly for natives with Cancer lagna, since the

9th and 10th lords become Jupiter (dharma) and Mars (karma). Jupiter

and Mars are mutual friends, and would support one another.

Let us look at the chart you give below, and take Rahu as the 9th

lord. Then the 9th lord Rahu has mutual aspect with the 10th lord

Jupiter. Rahu does not exemplify dharma. The yoga does not take

place by conjunction, but by mutual graha drishti....and Rahu has no

desire to support Jupiter (Guru-Chandala yoga). Similarly, other

factors should also be considered--for example, is Rahu the

Atmakaraka?

Also, I don't see how Rahu (Aries) is aspected by Mercury (Scorpio)

through graha drishti in the chart you mention below.
