Guest guest
I dont understand how a combust planet is innefective. My mars is combust heavily and is in 12th house. In navamsa it is 6th house(kumbha). But the dasa of mars was fantastic. All round success and good name in education and extra curricular activities. Recieved national level scholarship also during the same period. I feel the lordship is quite important and also association with functional benefics. This could reduce the combustion effect. I think the planets that suffer combustion are most probably the enemies of sun. And i also feel that sun may forgive planets like mars and jupiter who are his friends.regardspartha b_lakshmi_ramesh <b_lakshmi_ramesh > wrote: Om Gurave NamahNamaste Sarajit,Suppose the combust planet is exalted in Rasi/Navamsa, is it still ineffective? Is there any possibility of cancellation of combustion and placement in maranakarana sthana...say like neechabhanga?Regards,Lakshmi , sarajit_podar@c... wrote:> > Aum Namah Sivaya> Dear Nisha,> > They shall be rendered ineffective and not necessarily malefic. Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah, Dear Jyotishas, Even I think Guruji told that Mars can't get combust. It's like Ravana trying to burn Hanuman's tail. Mars is full of Agni tatwa you can't burn it. But I have another Question. Guruji told that only retrograde Venus can get combust as it gets behind the Sun (with respect to earth) during retrogression; In a recent Software I observed with our SureshBabu which shows true animated view of the planetary motion I 'saw' Venus was behind sun even in regular motions at sometimes. Can Guruji or somebody please tell more on this. Guest guest
Dear Laxmi, I hope I am not intruding in a discussion between two scholars.I would like to put my views below. Combustion merely lessens effectiveness of the planets' presence/house owned by him and his aspects, but the effect is not totally nullified. His exaltation in navamsha would naturally give him more strength than if if he were combust with no exaltation in Navamsha. Also Mercury gives results even when he is combust. This is probably because he is always within 28 degrees of Sun. Guest guest
All the texts agree that every planet gets combust within the following range.Moon: 12 °Mars: 17 °Mercury: 14 °, 12 ° when retrograde.Jupiter: 11 °.Venus: 10 °, 8 ° when retrograde.Saturn: 15 °. KOPA- ANGRY A planet is angry when combust by the Sun.Kopa also means the state of being in contradiction with, or incompatible with. A planet is combust when it is in such close proximity to the Sun that it becomes invisible. The Sanskrit name for this is Asta which means "setting."Another name for the avastha of a combust planet is Mushita- robbed. Psychologically, combust planets give rise to feelings of vulnerability and insecurity, which are the result of ego attachment. When a person tries to achieve a particular goal and fails repeatedly, he gets frustrated. Combust benefics means that the person just keeps quiet and lets the anger in him to be controlled. Whereas the malefic combust means that the person tries to pronounce the qualities of that planet. For example when mars gets combust, the ego is over identified with the function of power and authority. The native tries to be superior all the times and tries to be over aggressive just to prove his point. If anybody is curious as to what software sanjayP is talking about: it is called "starrynight". If you even have passing interest in Astronomy, you might want to try it (coz' you will like it). > > Warm Regards > S.Prabhakaran > Regards, -Suresh. Guest guest
Dear Members, Does combustion depend on the degree of closeness with sun or is it fixed. Could we say Jupiter 10 deg from sun is less combust than Jupiter 2 deg from sun. Guest guest
Hi Nitish Yes there are many who opine that moon does not get combust. But this is what i got from an archive from another group. Moon, Combust The Moon is the manas, the sense mind, through which the Sun, the soul, experiences itself as the reflection of the world. When the Moon is combust, it is dark, there is no reflection; the native feels frustrated from not being able to enjoy themselves as the reflection of the world. The Moon is the social planet, whenever we do something with another we are actually only relating to ourselves, the other is merely a reflection of our self, therefore the native also suffers on account of being unable to enjoy theirreflection as others. The combust Moon always indicates a lack of need fulfillment, and resulting frustration, in the areas it influences. Guest guest
as combustion occurs astronomically, i think...debilated sun does not loose power to combust and in this case exaulted sat should loose its power..depending on the closeness to sun. looking forward to comments from other learned members. jk - scorpio we Thursday, October 31, 2002 10:43 AM Re: [sJC: Achyuta Gurukul] Combust Planets Dear membersI have Taurus as ascendant and Saturn and Sun in 6thhouse (Libra). Guest guest
Dear List members, With my limited knowledge, may I suggest you look at the original meaning of Combust. The ancient texts say that a planet is combust when you cannot see it for 24hr.s or more and the term used , wisely, "Astaa". The meaning of the term is having set. I think this should remove any confusion.
