Guest guest
dear nisha, as i know...in combustion house placement does not matter, the distance matters. for example..if sun is in Cn and mars is in Le but within combustible distance..mars will get combusted. the combust planet will not show its effects. but sun will take over and give the planet's effect during sun dasa...most probably AD's will be effective. Gurus and other learned member may please correct me. dasgupta - Nisha Monday, October 28, 2002 6:02 PM [sJC: Achyuta Gurukul] Combust Planets Om Namo Bhagawate Vaasudevaaya What actually combust planets signify? i read if planets are with sun in the same house they get combusted. In this case, if those planets are combusted, are they termed as malefic or neutral? Regards, Nisha Y! Guest guest
|| Om Gurave Namah || || Om Namo Narayanaya || Dear Nisha I remember to have read in Gayatri Devi Vasudev's "Practical Horary Astrology" that Orbs of Influence have to considered to see if there is a conjunction first. She had quoted the following orbs of influence from Neelakanta's Prasna Tantra : Sun 15 deg Moon 12 deg Mars 8 deg Mercury 7 deg Jupiter 9 deg Venus 7 deg Saturn 9 deg You have to add the orbs of influence of two planets in question and divide by 2 to get the average Orb of Influence. Check the longitude of the planets in question. If the planets are separated by a distance which is more than the average Orb of Influence then they are not conjunct. Therefore I think there cannot be combustion. But if the distance is less than or equal to the average Orb of Influence, there will be full combustion. As for aspects, if the distance falls within the average value, the planets are said to have full aspects. For powerful aspects from a trine etc, she had suggested a lower value of 6 deg in order to reach safe conclusion. I am not sure if this is true only for horary astrology. I hope this helps. If not, treat this as additional knowledge. :-) I request Gurus to please advise. Best wishes R.
