Hello,

A thought came to mind to translate shlokas from Guru Geeta and send them to

fellow members. I hope it is useful for the members.

Soota Oowatch,

Kailas shikare ramye, bhaktisandhan nayakum

Pranamya Parwati, bhaktya shankarum paryapruchyat II1II

Soota says, One day while sitting on the beautiful Kailash Mountain Parwati,

with all the devotion, asked a question to the leader of devotion, the

Shankara.

Shri Devi Oowatch,

Om namo dev devesh, paratpar jagadguru

Sadashiv mahadev, gurudixam pradehimay II2II

Parwati says, Oh! The God of Gods and the Guru of the universe, Sadashiv

mahadev, please accept me as your student.

Kain margain bho swamin, dehi bruhm mayo bhawate

Twam krupakarume swamin, namami churanow taw II3II

Oh! Lord, could you please tell me the way by which this body will become one

with the creator. I bow on to your feet.

Ishwara Oowatch,

Mama roopasi devitwam, twa prityarthum vadamite

Lokopakaraka prashno, na kenapi krutaha pura II4II

You are so beautiful and you are my beloved so I am telling you, such a useful

question was not asked by anyone before.

Durlabhum trishu lokeshu, tachunushwa vadamite

Gurumvina bruhmananyat, satyum satyum varanane II5II

The knowledge which is hard to find in any of the three parts of the universe, I

am going to tell you. Without guru becoming one with brahma is not possible.

This is the truth I am telling you.

Ved shatra puranadi itihas adi kanich

muntr yentradi vidhyach, Smruti ruchat nadikum

Shaiv shaktya gamdani, anyani vividhani ch

Apa braunsh karaneeha jeevanam, bhrant chetasam II6II

All the knowledge in vedas, puranas, histories, mantras, and yentras drive the

people, who are already confused, in to more cofusion.

Yagnuo vratum tupo danum, japastirtum tathaiwacha

Gurutatwam avignay, mudhaste charate janha II7II

People, absorbed in ygnya, tapa, dana and japa without understanding the

principle of Guru, are wandering in ignorance.

Guru budhayatmano nanyat, satyum satyum na saunshaya

Tull labharthum prayatnustu, kartavyabhi manshibhihi II8II

All the intelligent people who understand the importance of guru should make it

their duty to reap the benefit of this knowledge with out slightest doubt.

Goodha vidhya jagnmaya, dehech agnyan sumbhawaha

Udayaha swa prakashane, guru shabhdane kathayate II9II

Oh! The goddess of this earth, the secrete knowledge that is unknown to this

body becomes very clear by the light that is inherent in the word 'Guru'.

Survepap vishudhatma, shri guruho pad sevanath

Dehi brahmmaya bhavadasmat tat kruparthum vadamite II10II

All the sins will be washed away by serving guru. I will now tell you how this

body becomes one with brahma.

Shoshunum pap punkasya, deepanum gnyan tejasam

Gurupadodakum samyak, saunsaranaw tarakum II11II

The faith in guru will dry out the wet clay of sins and will light up the lamp

of knowledge and it will help to cross the ocean of life.

Agnyan moolhuranum, janma karma nivaranum

Gnyan viaragya sidhartrum, guru padodakum pibeth II12II

Being humble in the presence of guru (i.e. by accepting the water that has

touched guru's feet) will drive away ignorance, takes away rebirth, gives

knowledge, and makes you detached.

Guru padodakum peethwa, guru ruchist bhojanum

Guru murthe sada dhyanum, guru mantrum sada japeth II13II

Kashikshetrum tannivasum, janhavi churnodakum

Guru vishvashwaraha sakshat, tarakum brahm nichitum II14II

By accepting the water from guru's feet, eating from the guru's left over dish,

always remembering guru's image, and by doing jap of mantra given by guru will

make guru's place a very secret like kashi. The water from guru's feet will be

very special like water from Ganges. It is definite that guru, the vishweshwar

of kashi, is the brhma himself.
