Guest guest
Om Namao Bhagavate Vasudevaya Namaste Listmembers Dear Visti, Is it the Moon? Chandra governs blood which feeds/nourishes. Would we look to lagna for hair?. I am a Leo and have a long, thick, wavy mop. Second from AL has Saturn, neutral in Moola, with only moderate dryness. My mother was an old witch, literally; she had some scary powers. When I was about 8yrs old and suffering from a prolonged bout of pneumonia, she cut off my beautiful long plaits b/c she believed my hair was sapping my energy!. Warm Regards, Ann. Guest guest
Dear Visti, You don't mean the Moon, do you? I actually find Mars mystical, with its reddish hue and stories of ice on its surface -- also a lot better than a planet with rings that can only be seen with a telescope It is a ritual with us south Indians that those wishing their hair to grow dense and long should only cut it in the first half of the Moon. The same for nails, in case they've to grow well. It's all about minuscule electrical discharges. Warm regards, Ramapriya hubli (AT) vsnl (DOT) com - Visti Larsen sjvc Friday, September 27, 2002 3:01 PM Re: [sjvc] On hair Vyam Vyaasadevaaya Namah Dear Ramapriya, Only the intense heat caused by the hair covering the head, can cause damages to the skin, especially if the skin becomes dry. Hair doesn't actually damage the skin, but it sure helps to give the scalp some air sometimes. Heat is good for the brain as it helps it think.. this we know. Why Mars? Does it look mystical? Regarding energy potentials, siddhas tend to store their siddhis in their hair! Best wishes, Visti. - Ramapriya D sjvc Friday, September 27, 2002 10:52 AM Re: [sjvc] On hair Dear Visti, In my second post, when I surmised it was Mars, which by what you've said doesn't appear incorrect, I was also thinking of the fact that, by accident (unlikely) or intent, barbers here in India give themselves a holiday on Tuesdays. Venkataramanayya gives some intriguing insights into energy potentials in hair and all that in his book on Election Astrology, which now falls into place. Mystique apart, chest hair in men is also a non-hormonal pheromone But I gotta admit that hair helping the brain think is an ab.so.lute.ly new theory;where didja think that up from? And I'm getting in touch with my dermatologist this evening to find out if hair damages the skin. I'll be damned if he agrees with you Warm regards, Ramapriya hubli (AT) vsnl (DOT) com - Visti Larsen sjvc Friday, September 27, 2002 1:34 PM Re: [sjvc] On hair Vyam Vyaasadevaaya Namah Dear Ramapriya, Hair is a dead by product, which grows at the root and not at the stem. Hair has only 1 direction and this is upwards through the scalp covering it, and hence keeping the head warm. This helps the brain think, and unlike some dinasours who died due to the intense cold around their brain, we live longer. Too much heat on the scalp and dryness caused by the hair or products used for the same, cause dandruff. Long hair is considered mystical or intriguing, and also hair covering the face is similarly percieved amongst men. Hence we can infer the following: 1) Hair has only a vertical upwards direction. 2) It exalts the Sun(brain). 3) It can help ruin the skin, hence is an enemy of mercury. 4) It makes one look hidden/mystical. Which graha suits the above conditions? Best wishes, Visti.

Guest guest
Ramapriya: you had mentioned that people in south trim their hair or clip nails in the 1st half of the lunar cycle. I think it is more of a sentimental thing in the south, also if you start a business or buy a vehicle, you do it in the 'growing' phase or valar birai (in tamil), expecting things to prosper just as the moon in the waxing phase. sjvc, "naaraayana_iyer" <naaraayana_iyer> wrote: > Om Jaya Jagganath > ----------------- > > Dear Ramapriya, > > It is Jupiter. > > Warm Regards > Narayan > > > sjvc, "Ramapriya D" <hubli@v...> wrote: > > Dear Visti, > > > > But you said the planet makes Sun exalt, and is inimical to Merc! > Meant Aswini, I see... and I thought you used 'graha' > > > > Anyway, good it appears I brought up this subject.
