Greetings to all

I am new to the list and very glad to be among you.

Last week I learned that I am going blind quite rapidly. I was diagnosed

with a bad eye cataract. I am 49 years old.

I have to be operated as there is not even use to give me new prescription

glasses.

I am an Astrologer(western) and in my natal chart I have the Moon in

quincunx to the Sun (150) so as the luminaries do symbolise the eyes that

for one explains to me the affliction to the eye. Also Neptune (ruling

glasses) is rising from the 12th.

But if I look at my chart in Jyotish I cannot see the two things I just

mentioned.

So I am a bit bewildered. Please could you tell me how the significators in

Vedic do indicated such a severe case for the eyes and an eventual

operation.

I am waiting for Mer to go direct for the first intervention. They operate

one eye first and then around 2 weeks later the second one. It's done by

laser nowadays.

I am very lucky to live in this time and age as few decades back I will

surely have been blind without any doubt.

--- 11 PM (EET) -2h

-- Beirut , Lebanon (33N53, 35E30)

--- Lagna : 3 degrees 54 Libra

Hi Nadia,

Sun in exact conjunction with Rahu could be an issue. Is is also joined by

12th ruler mercury (loss) but as mercury is also 9th ruler, it should afford

some protection.

2nd ruler mars is debilitated in navamsa.

Exalted Saturn is exactly conjunct ascendant and aspected by mars by exact

aspect. Mars also conjuncts ascendant ruler closely. This creates problems

for the physical body. As it is venus, it can affect the sight as venus is a

karaka for sight. Mars stands for operations.

Venus is Karaka for eyeballs, yet Mars & Sun are Karakas for sight.

Dear Visti,

Thanks, I did not know that Mars was karaka for sight as well - is this in every

case or just because of the 2nd house rulership in this case? How about the

moon? I seem to remember something about 2nd and 12th rulers being the right

and left eyes.

How does one separate out sight from eyeballs? What I mean is that a problem

with the eyeballs should usually involve defects in sight?
