Guest guest
Respected Gurujis and learned members, Please find my answers for the lesson first. Shall always crave for pointing the mistakes and guidance of thee. Hare Krishna Nisha 1. Explain the changing of the seasons and its connection with the above mentioned astronomical factors. Whatever activities or actions or incidents happen in this universe they all relate somewhere with the gratitude (here I refer it with inclination) of the taker , the attitude of the giver and the altitude of the media. Seasons are the also the part of the activity of this universe programmed by the supreme to facilitate the living beings learn all phases of life. Here the taker is our own prithvi, the earth and the all burning majestic sun the giver. The earth has an imaginary line called equator which equates the globe into two hemispheres the north and the south. The ecliptic or the ravimaarg is the path of the sun which traverses in a year. Also, there is one more important factor, the axis of the earth, again imaginary, but it shows that while taking something from anybody (here sun) the earth wish to maintain her gravitation (balance) too. This inclination i.e gratitude of earth take the givings of the sun to distribute it on only some of the part of her globe to maintain the balance of nature. If this axis or inclination has not been there, the sun’s light has covered the whole half part facing to it with its rays and always constant light on the poles which means no ice-covered zones. Now, a very simple question. When does the sun gets nearest to earth ; in winter or in the summer? Obviously in summer as we experience too much heat. But no. this is not true. In fact, sun is farthest in its ecliptic in summer from earth. So why the heat? This heat is the outcome of sun’s attitude in giving rather in scientific language it’s the angle in which sun is directed towards earth. In summer, the altitude of sun gets higher in its path and it is projected towards earth with its direct rays giving burning sensation while in winters that angle is slant. So, in a nutshell, the seasons are caused and changed by the sincere and smooth mechanism between the sun and the earth by the gratitude of earth in taking the rays to balance the nature, the altitude of the media i.e the path and the attitude of the sun whether it gives directly or slantly. 2. There are some days of the year when the Sun either doesn’t rise or set above certain parts of the globe. Please explain this phenomenon. A propos to above, it is again the gratitude, altitude and attitude of the concerns. The sun crosses the equator at the time of the vernal equinoxe (March 21) and the whole earth experiences equal day and night. After this, the sun proceeds towards the northern hemisphere. Here the attitude of sun i.e. its rays are very direct covering the hemisphere. The sun’s altitude i.e. its path is above the horizon adjoining the factor that earth is comparatively small to sun. the poles get constant eye of the sun thus there is always day while since earth also rotates on its axis so other parts exchange day and night as well. Similar is the case when sun traverses its path towards southern hemisphere. This shows the summer and winter solstices. 3. Parasara mentions two classes of heavenly bodies: the moeving and non-moving ones. Please explain, what will be the di®erence between their roles in the astrological interpretation. This universe comprises of moving and non-monving bodies. Parashara defined the non-moving as the constellations which means they are group of stars and their relative deistance is always the same. The moving bodies are called planets which traverse their path through these constellations. The moon completes its revolution of earth in approx. 27 days 7 hrs. So, some of the learned Indian astrologers divided the zodiac into 27 equal divisions signifying one constellation for each. These constellations are ashwini (beta arietis ranging from 0.0’0 to 0.13’20), punarvasu (polux ranging from 2.20’0 to 3.3’20) etc. Astrologers define some of these as auspicious and others as inauspicious too. The constellation in which the native is born i.e. the moon placed in that constellation is called native’s birth star. Traditionally, the naamkarana sanskaar of the native is done on the basis of this constellation only. Regarding to astrological interpretations, the nakshatra being the fixed bodies pertain to all time effect for the whole life. The birth signifies the nature and personality of the native. These bodies even effect the planets which are in their periphery. The planets too get quality and nature traits from the stars they are in. many astrological methods, dasa system and approaches are based on nakshatra as basis for their reasoning and prediction. The minute divisions of the horoscope are based on the nakshatra only. 4. If you are able to construct your own chart, please do it and explain as many astronomical principles from it as you can (terrestrial latitude/longitude, season, Sun’s cycle, Sunrise/Sunset etc.). Also try to determine which planets are above and under the horizon in your chart. In which Ayana the Sun is?
