Q1. In your chart or any chart,explain how a lagna signs characteristics and

planets connected with that lagna sign influence the native's personality and

health.

 

The Jataka of the following chart has Tula Lagna.Tula is an airy sign, and airy signs

has lower vitality, but an active mind.As this is a long sign , the native is

tall.Librans has a tendency for baldness after the middle age, and the native

has baldness.Libra is black and the native is also dark-complexioned.Lagna is

aspected by it's lord Venus ( Rasi Drishti) from the 8th house and Lagna lord

venus is afflicted by ketu( by association) , giving rise to a diseased body.

The unobstructed Argala of Saturn® and Rahu on the lagna is again afflicts

the lagna , thereby giving rise to diseases.The influence of Saturn and Rahu on

the lagna has again made his complexion dark.Argala of saturn on lagna has made

his body somewhat hairy. The relieving factor is the Rasi-Drishti of Jupiter on

the Lagna-Lord Venus, and the Lagna-lord being situated in his own house. As

lagna-lord is situated in his own house, it will get an environment conducive

to get relief from disease.

 

The influence of Saturn, rahu, ketu on lagna & Lagna-Lord has made the native

tamasik, but the Rasi drishti of Jupiter on the Lagnadhipati has a balancing

influence on the native. The aspect and argala of Saturn on Lagnadhipati and

Lagna respectively has given in him an element of Tapasvi, and for few years in

his life he has done a fair amount of Tapasya in search of God.

 

The native suffers from nasal polyp and allergic rhinitis- a chronic disease of

nose.The second house is afflicted by saturn & Rahu, the roga karaka. Second

house represents face, and a disease of nose ( which is a part of face)is

indicated in case of affliction of the 2nd house. In the natural Zodiac also

the 2nd house is afflicted by ketu. Both these houses are fixed ( sthira)

signs. This is the reason for the chronicity of this diseases.

 

Q2. Explain the reason for the exaltation & ownership signs of all the planets.

 

This is a very difficult thing to find out the reason of allotment of the

ownership of signs by planets and their signs of exaltation. One clue was

given in the article.In rasi where a planet gets exalted or in rasi which is

the own house of a planet , there are similarities between the nature of the

Rasi and the Planet.

EXALTATION OF PLANETS

 

SUN: Sun gets exalted in Aries. Sun is King, the place of whom is at the

begining of anything. Aries is the arambha- the begining of natural Zodiac. Sun

signifies head, Aries is the head of Kalapurusha. Sun is Male,so is aries.Both

Sun and Aries are pitta Dosha.Both are fiery.

 

Matangi,one of the Dasamahavidya, is the Deity of Sun. Matangi is Raktavastraam

( who wears red clothes )& She is Daavaagnirupaam ( who is like fire i.e. red

). The colour of Aries is red . Thus Sun is exalted in aries.

These are the reasons for sun to be exalted in Aries.

 

MOON: Taurus is the exaltation sign of Moon ; the sign where moon is most

happy.Both Moon and Taurus is female and both are white. The second house of

natural Zodiac represents the face and mouth of the Kalapurusha,& is the

sustainer. Moon , the Mother sustains all these universes (Bhuvan). So, she is

Sri Bhuvaneswari, whose beejamantra is Hrim - the mayabeeja. As mother(Moon)

removes all the troubles of her children and sustains them, the Hrim

beejamantra ( which is considered best among all the beejamantra- Vide

Bhubaneswari parijat). The colour of Bhubaneswari , the deity of Moon , is like

Udyaddinadyutim ( who has the glow of the rising Sun )i.e. white, which is also

the colour of Taurus. These are some of the reasons for Moon's exaltation in

Taurus.

 

MARS: Mars gets exalted in Capricorn , the tenth house of natural zodiac, the

Karmabhumi. Mars loves action, karma. Naturaly , the place of action should be

its place of joy, the place of exaltation

The deity of Mars is Sri Bagalamukhi. Though everything associated with

Bagalamukhi is yellow, in the dhyana of Bagalamukhi it is stated that

Bagalamukhi is seated on the Ratnavedi which is situated in the middle of

Sudhaasamudra (the ocean of nectar), the colour of which is blue, which is also

the colour of Capricorn.

 

MERCURY: Mercury is exalted in Virgo, which signifies sharp intelligece, orator,

tactfulness; - these are also the attributes of Mercury. He feels joyous in such

a place like this, & so he is exalted here.

The deity om Mercury is Sri Tripuraasundari, the colour of the Deity is

Jabakusumsamkasham Darimikusumopamaam, so, not grey, which is the colour of

Virgo. But Virgo is the SIMHAASANA of Tripuraasundari(Shodashi ), on which Sri

Tripurasundari is seated. In Mahaakaala Samhitaa there is a description of the

SIMHAASANA on which the Devi is seated:

ratnasimhaasanam tasyaa vedyaa madhye smaret shubham,

Virinchivishnurudresharupapaadachatushtayam,

Sadaasivamayam saakshaat tasmin paraashivatmakam......etc

 

The panchasiva has become the SIMHAASANA of Devi-- Sivamayam. The body of Siva

is smeared with Vibhuti, the ash, the colour of which is gray, the colour of

Virgo.

This is the reason for Mercury's exaltation in Virgo.

 

JUPITER: Jupiter is exalted in cancer. Cancer is the 4th house of Zodiac,

signifying learning,and Jupiter is vidyakaraka. So cancer must be its place of

joy- the place of exaltation.

Sri Tara is the Deity of Jupiter. There are several matras of Tara, but only the

three aspect of Tara are the Devataa-- Ekajataa,Ugrataara,NilaSaraswati. The

colour of Ugra Tara (who removes the extreme sufferings of her devotee) is

light pink ( According to Gurudev ). This is also the colour of Cancer, the

Rasi of exaltation of Jupiter.

 

VENUS: Venus is exlted in Pisces, which is the 12th house of Zodiac. 12th house

siginifies 'pleasure of bed', the place where Venus feels most comfotable.So he

is exlted here.

 

Sri Kamalaa is the deity of Venus. In Swatantra Tantra, Kamala has been given

two other names,-- Sri Bhuvanaa and Mahaalakshmi. There is a dhyana of Ma

Kamala given in Sharadaa Tilaka where her colour is described as white like

"lightning" ---Vapusha saudaaminisannibhaa ( Shaaradaa Tilaka 8.38 ). In

another dhyana of Mahalakshmi, given in Shaaradaa Tilaka ( 8.74 - 8.88 ) the

colour of Devi is white like the morning sun-- baalaarkadyutim.

The colour of Pisces is white , the colour of Ma kamalaa, who is the Deity of

Venus. No doubt, Venus is thus exalted in Pisces.

 

SATURN: Saturn is exalted in Libra. The deity of saturn is Sri Kali, who is

black in colour. Black is also the colour of Libra.So, Saturn is exalted here.

 

RAHU: Rahu is exalted in Gemini, the 3rd house of Natural Zodiac. 3rd house

signifies Kama- Desire, which is the main area of activity of Rahu.

 

KETU: Ketu is moksha karaka. Naturally the house of Devaguru Jupiter is his most

desired place, the place of exaltation. In the natural zodiac, the 9th house ,

the Dharma Sthana, is Sagittarius, the fiery rasi. For moksha, Yogaagni ( the

fire of union with the Supreme Being )is needed. Hence, the fiery Rasi of

Jupiter, i.e. Sagittarius is the place of exaltation of Ketu.

 

OWNERSHIP OF PLANETS

The Zodiac is divided into two halves, the Solar half and the Lunar half. Sun is

the king of the Solar half and Moon is the king of Lunar half. Leo, the fiery

rasi is owned by the fiery Sun. Moon, the Matrikaraka is the owner of the 4th

house of natural zodiac i.e. Cancer. 4th house signifies mother & moon is

matrikaraka. Next to the kings i.e. Sun & Moon is the the place of prince,

mercury. So the next two rasis ( Virgo and Gemini )are the houses of Mercury.

Next to the price , the place is for the main advisor to the king, Venus, the

planet of worldly knowledge. So , the next two houses will be owned by Venus (

Libra and Taurus ). For protection of the kingdom , the next house should be of

the Chief of army , Mars who owns next two houses ( Scorpio and aries ). The

king needs advice of the Guru , so the next two houses are owned by Devaguru

Jupiter ( Scorpio and pisces). Saturn is employed in the kingdom. He is the

servant , so his quarter will be far away from the Kings. The next two houses (

Capricorn and aquarius ) are owned by saturn.

 

 

Q3. Take the dual rasis owned by the non luminous planets and compare the

characteristics of the two rasis. Find out how the lordship gets altered for

these two Rasis because of the difference in characteristics .

 

Mercury: Mercury owns Gemini and Virgo. Gemini is green garden, school and

colleges, curious and jovial. Here mercury is , as if , a young boy in his

student days: jovial , playful and curious. But in virgo, he is a mature

prince, a good intelligent orator, remains often in firms and libraries of the

kingdom. His intlligence has now become sharp as he becomes mature.

 

Jupiter: Jupiter own other two Dual Rasis, Pisces and Sagittarius. Pisces , the

Jala rasi, is an intuitive sign, the sign of a honest compassionate Rishi, who

is emotional and forgiving. But Jupiter, the when he is the owner of the fiery

Sagittarius, is a tapaswi, uncompromising in the path of Dharma.
