Dear SJVC Gurus,

 

Below are my answers for the lessons 5. Im very sorry for my big delay

with the answers.

 

I think, I have many mistakes and errors, unfortunately. Please kindly

review my mistakes and give me guidelines in my Jyotish study, if its

possible. Due to this wonderful lesson, I feel myself more confident with

the so difficult subject as chart interpretation. Now I understand, how

much I need to study further for correct chart interpretation.

Mesha Lagna ( BPHS):

The sign Aries is blood-red in complexion. It has a prominent (big)

physique. It is a quadruped sign and strong during night. It denotes

courage. It resides in the east and is related to kings. It wanders in

hills and predominates in Rajoguna. It rises with its back (a Prishtodaya

sign) and is fiery. Its ruler is Mars.

10. If the ascendant lord is in the 10th, the native will be endowed with

paternal happiness, royal honor, fame among men and will doubtlessly have

self-earned wealth.

Should Atmakaraka be in Taurus Navamsa, happiness from quadrupeds will

result.

One will be endowed with longevity of 100 years, be sensuous and will look

after state affairs if Venus is in Karakamsa.

 

The ram, the symbol of Aries, is famous for eagerly running, headfirst,

into obstacles. This may indicate a person who is prone to head injuries

and who attempts to surmount his or her problems by excessive thinking.

This emphasis on the head is compounded by Aries being the first house in

the natural zodiac, and because Mars is known for its retrogression, which

gives Arians a tendency for displaying idiosyncratic behavior. These

behaviors may be extroverted, because Mars is extroverted. Mars, which

indicates a general predisposition to violence, be it through an accident

or an argument, is natural significator of accidents. This tendency for

accidents is reinforced by Mars simultaneous rulership of the eighth

house, which also rules accidents.

Most of the characteristics of the Mars also characterize Pitta, the

impatient dosha which Mars rules

Lord 2 - Ve is in 11 Bhava. If second lord in 11th house: friends,

telecommunications, entertainment, advisor, social service, finance and

etc. (Crux of Vedic astrology, p84.) ... the native will all kinds of

wealth, be ever diligent, honorable and famous.

Note: ... will undergo miseries due to ill-health during childhood and

with the march of time he will be endowed with health throughout. (BPHS,

p195)

Ve is friend to Sa and located in the Aquarius sign, which is own sign for

Sa. Aquarius sign gives to Sa and Ve charity, philosophy mind, places with

water, hard-working, stoic, honest. As I did learned from the

forum, the conjunction Sa and Ve gives

addictions to the drugs and alcohol. Ve is AK of the chart.

Ve as AK with good placement gives nature: charming, beautiful body,

lovely eyes, and curly hair. The native is joyful, amorous, poetic,

fortunate and sensuous. From the other hand, Ve and Me are death planets

for the Mesha Lagna.

 

Lord 3 - Me is in 9 Bhava.

.... will lack paternal bliss, will make fortunes through wife and will

enjoy progeny and other pleaser.

note: one will unendingly feel miserable ... his father will be a

contemptible person (BPHS, p197)

Me is in Kumbha, which is neutral sign for him. Ke gives no negative

effect to him, but triangle house gives good effect. But in Navamsa Me

located in terrible sing of Scorpio (neutral to him Lord - Ma), but in

dussthana it gives not so good results for Me.

 

Lord 4 - Moon is in 6 Bhava

be devoid of maternal happiness, be given to anger, be a thief and a

conjurer ( or magician), be independent in action and be ill-disposed.

note: ... he will not be well-disposed toward his mother ... (BPHS, p200)

Moon responsible for: Intelligent, stout body, sweet speech, phlegmatic,

mother, gems, mind, water, selfish, white color. Virgo is sign of her

fiend Me, its means that Virgo gives Moon little better results. In the

Navamsa, we see the Moon in 9 Bhava, Makara Sign, which is sign of Sa

equals to her. Moon conjoined with Ju in the Navamsa (9 house). This

position gives her positive results.

 

Lord 5 Ma is in 10 Bhava

will enjoy a Rajayoga and various pleasure, and be very famous (BPHS,

p207)

note: this one position with sterling qualities will equal many Rajayoga.

(Sy in neutral house)

Due to Ma location in Ca sign and Kendra, the Ma gives very positive Yoga

Ruchaka Yoga:

 

RUCHAKA -sharp- YOGA: Kuja (Mars in an angle, and in own or exaltation

rasi. The Ruchaka native will have a long face, attractive brows, black

hair, a neck, akin to a conch, a blood red complexion, be slender from the

waist, and have, thin shanks. Pitta will predominate the constitution.

Energetic and hard working he is very enthusiastic and daring, liberal,

and has spotless lustre. Powerful and brave he loves to fight wars. He

will acquire wealth by doing many daring deeds. Of fine qualities, fond of

all things, he will enjoy great reputation and fortune, and be a favorite

of the king, or a king himself. He will become renowned for his merits, is

discriminating, will be a leader of an army and will emerge victorious in

all his attempts.

He will honor gods and brahmins, and has the marks of veena (lute, vajra,

trident, Dhanus (Sagittarius) (bow), pasa (noose), bull rasi, cakra, staff

(a staff with a skull at the top deemed to be Shiva's weapon, and carried

by ascetics, and an arrow, on the hands and fee Well-versed in occult

sciences, and having scientific knowledge, he is versed in mantras, the

method of praying with them and the art of producing magic. One will be

very strong, but rash, arrogant, irascible, of cruel temperament and a

protector or leader of thieves. As ruler of Sahyachala and Vindhya

Pradesh, he lives in comfort and happiness for 70 years, commanding an

army with a good supply of fleet horses, dies by fire or weapons (near a

temple) and goes to the heavenly realms. Ruchaka (means very large,

agreeable, pleasing, sharp, acid, as well as indicating any object that

brings good luck. The root rucha means bright, radiant. The natives with

this yoga are sharp, due to Mars' directness, but their martial energies

are generally focused towards some good, unless Mars itself is afflicted,

in which case this yoga can cause a tendency for great anger and violence.

The Ruchaka Yoga native's goals and expectations are contingent upon the

ideas and concepts they hold in their minds. Those things not in harmony

with their mental concepts are seen as challenges and obstacles to

overcome. In horoscopes with strong spiritual indications, the natives

learn how the effect the attachment to their mental concepts has in

determining their mental peace and spiritual mindedness.

 

Unfortunately, Ma in the Navamsa is debilitated, because he is in Karka

Sign (Cancer). Such position gives bed results for Ruchaka yoga. Ma

combustion gives less effect of good Ma position in Lagna chart too.

 

Lord 6 - Me is in 9 Bhava

will trade in wood and stones (poison) and will have fluctuating

professional fortunes.

note: ... further cause ups and downs in one's livelihood. (BPHS, p211).

Me has not so bed position. The results of the 6 House will be not so bed,

in my opinion.

 

Lord 7 - Ve is in 11 Bhava

will gain wealth through his wife, be endowed with less happiness from

sons, etc. and will have daughters.

note: ... is a possibility of the native losing his children to his grief.

he will obtain more daughters. his own son will cause him no happiness.

Living son also seems to be very remote a probability. (BPHS, p216)

 

 

Lord 8 - Ma is in 10 Bhava

will be devoid of paternal bliss, be a tale-bearer and be bereft of

livelihood. If there is an aspect in process from benefic, then these

evils will not mature

note: this placement will produce all kinds of miseries in livelihood,

fortunes, fame, properties and the like. (BPHS, p219)

The exaltation of the Ma in Capricorn and in Kendra gives the best results

of the Ma.

 

Lord 9 Ju is in 12 Bhava

will incur loss of fortune, will always spend on auspicious acts and will

become poor on account of entertaining guests.

Note: ... in the modern context lavish parties will take this role. ...

will land in financial difficulties on account of throwing parties and the

like. this position is not also auspicious for happiness of elder brothers

and sisters. (BPHS, p223)

Ju is located in own sign in Lagna chart and debilitated in Navamsa

(Capricorn). It gives not so good results for native. Ju has relations

with 9 houses in Lagna and Navamsa charts it gives strong relations to

religion and spiritual knowledge.

 

Lord 10 Sa is in 11 Bhava

will be endowed with wealth, happiness and sons. will be virtuous,

trustful and always delighted.(BPHS, p229) Sa is in his own sign (Lagna

Chart) and exalted in Navamsa Chart. It gives powerful to Sa.

 

 

Lord 11 Sa is in 11 Bhava

will gain in all undertakings while his learning and happiness will be on

the increase day by day. (BPHS, p232)

 

Lord 12 Gu is in 12 Bhava

.... will only face heavy expenditure, will not have physical felicity, be

irritable and spiteful. (BPHS, p235)

 

 

II. Grahas in Rasi and Bhavas:

 

1. Rahu is in 3d Bhava:

Rahu is mail and significator for brothers.

The 3d house deals with the part of intelligence whereby personal skills

are developed and hence is called an Upachaya (house of growth). As

indicated, Rahu gives skills for bombs and poisons and may be to medicine.

(Crux of Vedic astrology, p84.)

 

In 3th Bhava: he makes one proud, hater of brothers, of a stubborn

disposition, long-lived and wealthy.

>From the other hand Ra in Gemini is exalted, its gives better result for

the house and for: Brothers, sisters, courage, patience, servants and

subordinates, deeds of heroism.

 

2. Ch is in Makara (Navamsa):

He will be short-limbed, fickle-minded, cruel, quick -footed, indulging in

sexual pleasure, not attractive in the eyes of women, of windy

constitution, and nick named by his enemies. He will risk in the 19th,

27th, 34th, 49th, 54th, or 68th of his life.

 

If Ch is in Virgo (in Rashi chart) - he is slovenly, with very little

wealth and happiness, wise, religious-minded, hater of relatives, of helm

and wind in constitution, with many daughters and few son, of lovely face,

learned, long-lived, of sweet speech, intent on money, of peaceful end and

taking delight in other' prosperity.

If the Amsa is Capricon or Aquarius, the effects are in order for Ma

aspect - miserable in spite of wealth, for Gu aspect - devoted to one's

duty.

 

Ch is In 6th Bhava: makes one short-lived, not intelligent, suffer from

stomach complaint, lazy, poor, have many enemies and humiliation. He will

also curb his brothers and other kinsmen.

 

3. Bu is in Dhanu and In 9th Bhava:

Bu in 9th - honoured by kings, learned and wise advised.

 

Bu is In 9th Bhava:

cause learning, wealth, good conduct, religious life, oratorical powers,

proficiency, courage, great enthusiasm and much corn.

 

4.Ke is in Dhanu and in 3d Bhava:

Ke in 3d Bhava: causes predilection for sinful activities, unholy or

inauspicious things, loss of father and fortune, poverty, and vilification

of noble persons.

 

5.Sy is in Makara and 10 Bhava:

I Sy in Capricorn - he will be vile, ignorant, a mean trader, poor, greedy

in interested n others' fortune.

 

Sy is 10 Bhava - be blesses one with son, vehicles, praises, intelligence,

opulence, strength, and fame as well as status of a king or high official.

 

6.MA is in Makara and In 10th Bhava:

Ma in 10th will: having many sons, plenty of wealth, be a king or his

equal.

Ma is In 10th Bhava: makes one a king, cruel, charitable, very

intelligent, popular and respected by the elite.

 

7.SA is in Kumbha In 11th Bhava:

 

will have liaison with other women, enjoy other's earnings, leader of a

village, town or army, will have weak eye-sight, be slovenly, of lasting

wealth and power and good eater.

 

Sa is in 11th Bhava: makes one long-lived, of permanent wealth and income,

healthy, heroic, famous, lordly, and clever in science and Sastras.

 

8.Sk is in Kumbha In 11th Bhava: be attractive, curbed by women, and

addicted to a wicked woman.

 

Sk I sin 11th Bhava: makes one very rich, addicted to other women, enjoys

of all kinds of pleasures, intelligent, kind, and satisfied with large

gains.

 

9.Gu is in Meena In 12th Bhava: - governor of a province, king's minister

or army-commander and rich.

 

Gu is in 12th Bhava: he makes one hateful, of contemptible speech, bereft

of children, sinful, lazy and servant. He may have a defective limb and

spend away his wealth through religious acts or on the art of dancing.

 

2.Explain the reason for the exaltation and ownership signs of all the

planets, See lesson # 4 as a reference.

Sun (Surya):

The owner of the Sign is Ma big friend of Sun and the sign characteristic

is very similar to Sun characteristic - Aries: Dynamic, enterprising,

valiant, ruddy, head, forests, large forehead, hasty, impulsive, restless,

thick eyebrows, leadership, overbearing, dry lean, tall.

Aries Element Fire the same element for Sun;

Colors: Red Red

Owner Sign because Sun is King of the Planets and Leo is King of the

animals and they have very similar characteristics too. Element Fire the

same element for Sun

 

Moon (Chandra, Soma):

The same with Taurus as exaltation sign for Moon: (luxurious, faithful,

thick hair, stout)

Colors: White White

Female Female

Own Sign: Cancer

Color: Light Pink very close to white

Cancer: Heart, breast, watery fields, rivers, canals, kitchen, food,

attractive small build, emotional, deeply attached, mother-like,

sensitive. Many characteristics for Water and Mother, and Moon

significator of Mother and water place.

 

Mars (Kuja, Mangala):

Ma very good feels himself in Capricorn.

Capricorn is Rajas and Ma is Rajas;

Owner Sign is Aries.

Element Fire the same element for Ma

Colors: Red Red

Aries is Rajas and Ma is Rajas;

 

Mercury (Buddha):

Virgo gives libraries, bookstores, farms, intelligent, sharp, orator,

nervous, physically weak, discretion, tactfulness.

Mercury: Witty, Flexible nature, prudent, cunning, good speech, knowledge,

handsome countenance, green color, intelligence, learning.

Gemini gives communication, journalism, schools, colleges, study rooms,

cables, telp, newsp, tall, well-built, prominent, curious, learned,

jovial.

They have very similar characteristics, which help each other to be

better.

 

Jupiter Guru (Brihaspati):

Jupiter: Gold color, charitable, priesthood, children charitable,

treasure, yellow color, honor, wisdom.

Sagittarius: Royal, attorneys, government offices, aircraft, falling,

upright, honest, genial, gambler. knowledge and wisdom.

Pisces: Emotional, timid, honest, irresolute, talkative, intuitive.

Cancer: Heart, breast, watery fields, emotional, deeply attached,

mother-like, sensitive. Ju very good feels himself in inner Moon sign,

because Moon his very big friend.

Venus (Sukra):

Venus: Sexual pleasure, luxuries of life, charming ladies, wealth,

vehicle, sour taste.

Taurus: Beautiful, face, stable, sluggish, loyal, meadows, plains, luxury

halls, dining halls

Pisces: plump, large eyes, large eyebrows, lazy, emotional, timid, honest,

irresolute, talkative, intuitive

Colors: White Crystal White

 

Saturn (Sani):

Saturn causes delays and separation from the areas he affects, he

indicates where we suffer the results of our poor karmas, and he will not

allow us to reap the benefits of the areas he affects until the law of

karma has been fulfilled, he is the cross that each of us bears.

Capricorn: Knees, marshlands, watery places, alligators, beasts, bushes,

slender build, long neck, prominent teeth, witty, perfectionist, patient,

organizer, cautious, secretive, pragmatic.

Aquarius: Ankles, charity, philosophy, tall, body, small eyes, mountain

spring, places with water, ill-formed teeth, coarse hair, hard-working,

stoic, honest.

Sa Blue and CA/Aq have relations with blue water.

 

Rahu:

Rahu causes delays and separation from the areas he affects. He indicates

where we have little knowledge, and therefore have much to learn before

things will work out, causes separation because he indicates where we act

with a lack of forethought and may therefore get caught up in something

not in our best long-term interest that we must leave sometime in the

future.

Gemini: Chest, garden, communication, journalism, schools, colleges, study

rooms, cables, telp, newsp, tall, well-built, prominent cheeks, thick

hair, broad chest, curious, learned, jovial.

Aquarius: Ankles, charity, philosophy, tall, body, small eyes, mountain

spring, places with water, ill-formed teeth, coarse hair, hard-working,

stoic, honest.

Similar to Sa.

Ra indicate where we therefore have much to learn before things will work

out and Gemini gives, journalism, schools, colleges, study rooms, learned

and etc. Ra will be very good realized in Gemini.

 

Ketu:

Ketu hides those areas he affects in addition to destroying, and, thereby,

freeing us from attachments. Ketu hides the areas he affects by causing

feelings of doubt and creating discontentment that prevents an individual

from putting forth the necessary effort. He destroys those areas he

affects through self-destructive actions stemming from intense discontent

and deep, unfulfilled feelings. and is responsible for religious activity.

Ketu is very similar to Ma, and he has own sign from the Ma.

Sagittarius: Thighs, royal, attorneys, government offices, aircraft,

falling, sparse hair, muscular, deep eyes, upright, honest, genial,

gambler.- 9th sign of the natural zodiac.

 

3.Take the dual Rasis owned by the non-luminous planets and compare the

characteristics of their two Rasis. Find out how the lordship gets altered

for these two Rasis because of the difference in characteristics.

 

3.1. The dual Rasis are Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces.

 

Gemini and Virgo are ruled by Me. They are different, but ruled the same

Lord.

 

Mercury: Witty, Flexible nature, prudent, cunning, good speech, knowledge,

handsome countenance, green color, intelligence, learning.

 

Virgo gives libraries, bookstores, farms, intelligent, sharp, orator,

nervous, physically weak, discretion, tactfulness.

 

Gemini gives communication, journalism, schools, colleges, study rooms,

4.List the words and terminologies, which you do not understand in this
