Dear Teachers,

Namaste!

Accept, please, my answers to lesson 5.

font-weight:bold">1- In your chart or any

chart, explain how a lagna sign’s characteristics and planets connected

with that lagna sign influence the native’s personality and health.

10.0pt;mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman";font-weight:bold">

Answer: chart attached

This chart clearly

yes"> shows the power

of resistance of the Sthira Rasi – Scorpio. The native is an official of

Air Force, lawyer and minister of

a temple.

Although in the native’s chart Meena is

rising, there are two other

important factors to be seen here. Scorpio and the 8th house. The dispositor of

Lagna – Meena – is

Guru which is in Scorpio in the 9th

House along with the Sun which indicates

the native’s success with superior educational matters as well as the

deep involvement in the religious life.

.. The dispositor of Lagnesh is Mars which is in Tula in the 8th

House. These factors strongly influences the physical and surrounding condition

of the native.

Scorpio is rising

yes"> in Navamsa and Mars is exalted in the 3rd in Capricorn.

Mercury that is in tenth in Rasi, has gone to the 9th house in

Navamsa. The Sun in Navamsa is in

Meena in the 5th house. We may say then that the Moksha trikona and

Kapha constitution is strong here through the watery Scorpio and Pisces. Saturn

also play an important role here because it is exalted in Thula in the eight

house conjunct Mars in Rasi; and it is in the first house in Scorpio in

Navamsa, and is also the dispositor of Mars – Lagnesh in Navamsa.

Given the involvement of the Sthira Rasi –

Scorpio, and Mars and Saturn in this chart, the native have suffered during

life with chronic diseases, have gone through surgery of the prostate and

ulcers.

Parasara says ( in the chapter referring to:

“Effects of the First house”), how the ancient sages imagined three portion of

the body - related to the

Drekkanas or Decanates and regarding the ascendant etc, as representative of

the various organs of the body.

Although I have never tried this before, I will do my first try on

here and will attempt to relate

the native’s disease with these taught.

14 degrees of Meena is rising – so the – 2nd

Drekkanas or Decanates. According to Parasara the second Decanate represents

all organs bellow the neck and above the navel. Lagnesh is in 11th

degree of Scorpio. If I understood

it correctly, then Jupiter would be representing the ulcer of the stomach that

the native had in 1958. Interestingly by this time the native was running

Jupiter Mahadasa and Mars bukthi. Being Jupiter the ruler for the physical body

and particularly following Parasara description about “the Decanates technique”

, this Jupiter would be related to the native limbs below the neck and above

the navel – where the stomach is located. And Mars Mahadasa, Bukthi mars,

yes"> is fiery, and may have brought up the ulcer of that part.

Saturn and Mars in the eight house in Libra, and Mars is in the 12 degree of

this sign, - for the second Decanate – it would be the stomach. Saturn was

conjunct Mars, showing that the native had been suffering since sixteen years

old with this – chronic disease. As Saturn is exalted in Libra, I guess it

helped that everything could finish all right.

Still following this thought; the 12th and 2nd house from the

ascendant, rule the generative organs,

Here again Mars and Saturn play the role. Saturn is the ruler of the 12th

house - Aquarius, and Mars is the ruler of the 2nd – Aries.

According to these techniques both

houses rule the generative organs. The native have been into hospital during

the years 1973 and 1977 during his Saturn Mahadasa treating this organs and

also have been through a prostate surgery.

Surya is under the 26 degree Scorpio – third

Drekana – and bringing suffering through Scorpio disease to the Native. AS

Surya is also the ruler of the 6th house the health of the native. And being in

Scorpio in the 9th house in the 3rd Decanate indicates

the limbs related to Scorpio (private parts).

Mars, is fortunately exalted in Capricorn in

Navamsa, Saturn is in Scorpio in the first house in Navamsa playing a

Parivarthana yoga (mutual

reception) with Mars, that may be showing the exchange between these two

planets in matter of health for this native. Saturn is also exalted in Libra in

Rasi and these two grahas – planets – being exalted one in Navamsa and the

other in Rasi and both Parivarthana, may well bring success to the physical

body to the native after suffering (Mars) and time (Saturn).

I would like to also include in this study

what I could learn from colleagues and teaches from the SJVC list, about the KSY/KAY.

The native has a KAY which matches exactly to

his profile. He since mild age

became dedicated to the services of God. All his life has been toward this

path. He is one of the most sincere and exemplar person I have ever seen that

have been given his life and time in this direction. Although many suffering

has come to him, I guess due to this Yoga, he has been strong in continue as a

minister in a temple. The Surya and Guru position in the 9th house

in Scorpio show this.

Argalas: As we

are discussing here the native’s personality and health, I guess it is worth

enough paying attention to the argalas related to the Ascendant.

The Moon is eleventh from the Ascendant( the

native’s physical body). So, it shall be indicating

yes"> interference (good one?) to the natives health. If I

understood it correctly, there is no obstruction to this 11th house

(from Lagna) Argala, as it is supposed to have planets in the 3rd

house from Lagna in order to have such an obstruction to the Argala from the 11th.

(Is it correct teachers?)

In case it is correct I would go on thinking that this moon in

the 11th from Lagna would possibly say that the native’s mind (the

moon), home etc, would have a great (good?) interference in the native’s

health.

Also in case of judging health, I would like

to take the 6th house (responsible for his health too) and see the

Argalas formed from this house.

The third house from the sixth is the 8th house. There, in

the 8th, the native has Mars and Saturn, two malefic. In case of having only two and not

three, I am not sure it is a case of

“Vipareeta Argala”, but in case it is, then, this two planets would be

promoting the affairs(health) of

this sixth house. Also in case of Saturn and Mars being the two causing Argala

(Vipareeta) on the their house from the sixth (house of health) than we could

deduct that the cure or heal could come from surgery intervention (mars), but

also from diet and regulation

(Saturn). Yet, the 4th house from this sixth is the 9th house, another Argala

for the house of health (the sixth). There, in the 9th in Scorpio,

we have the Sun and Jupiter, both givers of life and growth, in this case an

auspicious intervention over the house of the native’s health. Through Scorpio

we could count on purification, from Jupiter we could expect optimism,

reestablishment, and from the Sun a source of life. I guess good auspicious to

his health. We can nor forget that this Sun is the ruler of the sixth house

itself, what could mean that the native health will experiment a kind of self

healing, being the Sun ruler of the house and himself in the fourth house of

the Argala. There are no obstructions to these Argalas here. I guess a good

point to his health.

Regarding Lagnesh Jupiter, it is with Sun in

Scorpio in the 9th house. We could take his situation to see about

the physical body of the native (Lagna). Taking this 9th – where

Jupiter is with the Sun – as the first, the second would then be the tenth,

where are Venus and Mercury in Sagittarius. So, Venus could promote the

promises of Jupiter and Sun, if Mars and Saturn were not in the 12th

from the house in question, and in this case breaking the Argala from this

second.

Ketu is in fourth from Jupiter Sun house, and

so, in an Argala, but Rahu in the

tenth from that house break again this Argala, spoiling the meaning that Ketu

could take. Gauranga Das, quoting from

bold">Sanjay Rath`s book: Crux of

Vedic Astrology, go on explaining

yes"> about page 26 – rule #VIII for Argala… from the mentioned

book, and says: “ – For example Rahu`s argala

on a house may indicate healing with medicine, argala by Ketu may indicate

healing by surgery or other procedures…”, then maybe it means that

the native may have the necessity of undergo to a surgery, but (the Argala

breaks) Rahu in the tenth may avoid the necessity of the surgery and heal the

native only with medicine. (I really hope so). That is my interpretation on

this chart.

2- Explain the

reason for the exaltation and ownership signs of all planets. Se lesson # 4 as

reference.

12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt">

10.0pt;font-weight:bold">Answer:

mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;font-weight:bold">Sun

font-weight:bold">:

Ownership

- Leo: I

guess the leader quality of Leo sign suits very well the King’s character of

the Sun, (the father) the centre ,

around of which all other (people)

grahas make their orbits.

So, here, the Sun can produce his bests.

Exaltation

– Aries

12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt">: in the frank impulsiveness of Aries the Sun

reach success. I feel like if the King (Sun) felt itself protected by the

army-friendly quality of the Aries sign.

Debilitation

– Libra

12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;font-weight:bold">:

because of the above said, the Sun probably does not feel comfortable in Libra

sings with all her soft and artistic quality, making difficult for the Sun to

show his Royal and Leadership.

mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;font-weight:bold">Moon:

10.0pt">

Ownership

– Cancer

12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt">:

The receptivity and sensibility

of Cancer remind us of the power

that lies on the intuitive mind, in the feelings. It also takes us to the depths of the

see(waters) – element of Cancer sign – over which the Moon exercises so much

influence. Reminding us that in the deepest water of the mind resides the most

precious treasures.

Exaltation

– Taurus

12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt">: May be in the fixed quality of Taurus, the

Moon may

yes"> practises her Queen’s quality

yes"> - as Taurus offers security and nourishment enough for the

Moon to feel comfortable.

Debilitation

– Scorpio

12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt">: The hidden

yes"> and secret life of Scorpio is

yes"> too complex for the karaka of the mind, that maybe would feel

to confused in showing a quality that is not enough transparent to be sown.

..

mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;font-weight:bold">Mars:

Ownership: Aries:

Here in Aries Mars find energy enough to use his weapons as a warrior. Bravery,

courage, competitiveness and challenger quality

yes">

yes">

Scorpio:

Through Scorpio, Mars may reach his masculinity and sexuality. Also the endure

capacity of Scorpio to go through work to the limits of the limitless, gives

room to Mars to fulfil his powers over this sign.

Exaltation

- Capricorn: Here in the sing of

Capricorn, always ready to work and face problems, Mars feels free to make

action with its energy.

Debilitation

– Cancer

12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt">: On the other side, the intuitive, passive

and receptive Cancer sign may be boring to Mars. Where the signal

of war does not sound as he wished. Feeling is not the right weapon in Mars

opinion..

mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;font-weight:bold">Mercury:

Ownership

– Gemini

12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt"> – To the fast Mercury, Gemini is the right

vehicle. Here he can play around infantile, and entertainingly. Gemini also

gives him all the quality of a good speech and write to which Budha can make

itself as best as possible.

yes">

Virgo: Here Mercury finds a more deep side of his

scientific traits. Through the sign of Virgo

yes"> with practical and objective organization, Mercury can reach

far with strategies. Having a sceptic mind Virgo offers Mercury the tool to go

far in the material word of intellect.

Exaltation

– Virgo

12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt">: Here the communicative side of Mercury is

presented in an organized, objective and logic manner. Maybe that is the reason

that makes Budha exalted in this sign.

Debilitation

– Pisces

12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt">: On the other side, Pisces has no material

organisation at all, always looking for something that is beyond the material

earth, and it could rive Mercury mad with so much detachment qualities. I guess

that’s the reason the non-organized Pisces is not the best sign for the

intellectual karaka Mercury.

mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;font-weight:bold">Jupiter:

Ownership- Sagittarius:

Here Guru is at home. Free enough to teach and pray optimistically. Sagittarius

with its fire-spiritual quality, gives Jupiter the element where he can

practises the doctrine of the spirit, spreading knowledge and wisdom.

yes">

Pisces: Although from the water

trinity, Pisces also gives to Guru the happiness of being in a sign that looks

for the Moksha quality. So, here, Guru may also as in the other ownership –

provides intuition and search for the path toward the

Light.

Exaltation

– Cancer

12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt">: The deep water of Cancer, once again gives

room to the intuitive mind, this time through the optimistic and wise of Guru.

Debilitation

– Capricorn: The hard reality of the

Capricorn sign maybe harms the optimistic quality of Guru; it does not find

room enough where hope and optimism may flourish.

yes"> The objectivity and realistic traits of the sign does not

suit the karaka of wisdom and happiness. Capricorn is too busy for this…

mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;font-weight:bold">Saturn:

bold">Ownership – Capricorn: The quality of hard work in order to achieve the goals either

material or not, does suits the Planet Saturn. Through Capricorn the persistent

side of Saturn is achieved.

bold">

yes"> Aquarius: Through Aquarius the most important lesson toward

growing – even

with suffering - is granted. Here

Saturn is in his Mooltrikona sign.

The existence offers a deep meaning to life to Saturn. Beyond the

materialistic bond conquered through Capricorn, there is the humanitarian side

of Aquarius, that teaches us that brotherhood may take us to light if we give

up material and search for the

Moksha path.

bold">Exaltation – Libra: It is not easy to relate Libra to Saturn, but thinking about it

with calm, maybe I can find a link between them both. Perhaps, Saturn may

through Libra make action his material qualities. In this case, if I am right,

Libra would offer Saturn the qualities of attaching, I mean, Libra gives Saturn

the opportunity of creating bonds in the earth… I confess not to easy to unveil

this.

bold">Debilitation – Aries: The impulsiveness of Aries is not easy for the stable Saturn. The

fire quality of this sign , burns the feet of the quiet and calm Sahni.

bold">Venus:

bold">Ownership – Libra: Venus can freely use

her artistic qualities in the sign of Libra where beauty and diplomatic

behaviour in social life plays the most important roles.

Taurus: In

Taurus, Venus can accumulate

values and luxuries, either for necessity or not. The sign that looks for

security offers Venus a wide field

to be enjoyed.

bold">Exaltation – Pisces: The finer qualities of this sign is also a good place for Venus,

where refinement of the spirit gives room for the fine traits of this planet.

bold">Debilitation – Virgo: Too much objectiveness for the arts and

yes"> passions of Venus.

bold">Rahu:

Ownership

– Aquarius: The only thing I can

think of to give the ownership of Rahu to Aquarius is that may be the qualities

of impediments similar to Saturn.

Exaltation

– Gemini: Well, here the curious Gemini could help Rahu to

look for the Amrita- drink again.. The fast and communicative Gemini suits the

irreverent and disobedient traits

of Rahu.

bold">Ketu:

Ownership

- Scorpio: Well, here Ketu feels at home with the occult side of Scorpio,

through wich he, Ketu, may reach Moksha.

Exaltation

– Sagittarius: On this side, the

fire Sagittarius, also gives Ketu plenty material that may take to enlighten.

Question

3: Take the dual rasis owned by

the non-luminous planets and compare the characteristics of their two rasis.

Find out how the lordship gets altered for these two rasis because of the

difference in characteristics.

Answer: The dual or common rasis are: Gemini and Virgo ruled by Mercury;

and Sagittarius Pisces ruled by Jupiter.

These

pair of sins ruled by the same planets are like colours: For instance

the yellow and blue that become

green and the pink and blue that becomes violet. In this case I would

say that they do not differ much in what they do, but how they do.

Taking the first pair, the Mercury one.

Gemini and Virgo go almost in the same direction but with a different speed.

One (Gemini) goes more freely and irresponsibly while Virgo prefers a more

organized and scientific way, to reach what both are looking for: intellectual

knowledge and communicate.

On the other side Jupiter rules the pair,

responsible for spirituality. Sagittarius go with more optimism, more hope, in

a more broad way. Where Pisces, look for spirituality in search of Moksha

detaching everything that may link itself to the earth. In the end, they reach

the same goal, in a different. Way.

4- Question:

List the words and terminologies, which you do not understand in this

lesson(even after searching in texts.

Answer: None.

Thank you, dear teachers, for this lesson,

Sandra.
