Guest guest
HARE RAMA KRISHNA ----------------- Pujya Gurudev, In your book VRIA , you have given Beejamantra for MEDITATION & another mantra for Japa in case of Tara Devi. How to meditate on a Beeja mantra? What is the difference between meditating on a Beeja mantra and doing Japa of the same Mantra? Please elaborate. With pranams Dilip Banerjee. Guest guest
Dear Dilip Jagannatha Jayate.. Meditation on the Beejamantra helps you to quickly achieve the goal whereas names, words etc with meaning tend to play with the mana for a longer time. This is the difference. Mantra are better than Mala mantra for meditation, but not for pranayama. Guest guest
Hare Rama Krishna -------------------- Respected Gurudev Pranam This morning perhaps I could not express myself properly while talking to you.Due to disturbance of telephone, I could not even hear you properly. My intension was to say that in both the process, of doing Japa of a mantra & meditaion on a mantra , the sadhaka repeates the mantra in his mind. In case of Brahma Gayatri Mantra, I can understand the process of meditation on the Mantra. Because , there is a meaning of it, the meaning itself expresses a reality & an intense aspiration of the sadhaka to bring down the Divine truth in all parts of the being. If we concentrate on the meaning of the Brahma Gayatri while doing Japa ( silent mental repeatation ) of Gayatri Mantra, it turns out to be a session of meditation on the Gayatri Mantra. After sometime , the mind falls silent and the truth which the mantra expresses, captures the consciousness of the sadhaka.... This I can understand. But in case of meditation on a Beeja Mantra, how can I meditate on it? I can simply go on repeating the mantra in my mind. But how to meditate on it, it does not mean anything. You told me , that the Beeja Mantra " HRIM " removes the suffering. While repeating HRIM in my mind , should I concentrate on the idea that this repeatation will end my sufferings? That means, one part of my mind will silently repeat the mantra again & again , and a part of mind in the background will dwell on the idea that the vibration created by the Mantra-Japa will end my suffering? Am I right ? Perhaps not. Let us take another Beeja Mantra, the Tara Beeja, recommended by Maharshi Vasistha " HRIM STRIM HUM PHUT ". Please tell me , how can I meditate on this Mantra, I would like to know the process. Guest guest
Om Namo Narayanaya, ZORAN; Hope you do not mind my answering the matter. Am I right ? Perhaps not.ZORAN: That is the point. The beeja mantra leads you by sound. Now, you should start with a mantra, and let it go, the thoughts will come. You should have indifferent attitude towards the thoughts. Once you become aware of being involved in the process of thinking, you should effortlessly move on to mantra. Mantra could then refine and you should not stop it.. Just make no effort. Than, mantra will be transcended and you will experiecne pure transcendental consicousness. Best wishes Zoran Let us take another Beeja Mantra, the Tara Beeja, recommended by Maharshi Vasistha " HRIM STRIM HUM PHUT ".
