Pranaams to Punditji, Gurus and fellow learners,

1.In your chart or any chart, explain how a lagna sign’s characteristics and

planets connected with that lagna sign influence the native’s personality and

health.

Answer to Q1= my chart is given below.

vivek

Natal Chart

June 2, 1966 Time: 21:58:00

Time Zone: 5:30:00 (East of GMT)

Longitude: 72 E 50' 00"Latitude: 18 N 58' 00"

chart attached.

Dhanu lagna, unoccupied lagna lord in Gemini aspecting the lagna both by rasi as

well as graha dristhi. Saturn aspects lagna by rasi as well as graha aspect.

Mars aspects by its 8th dristhi from vrishabha.

Jupitarian influence predominate, this gives love for tradition ,religion, a

respect for traditional knowledge. Physically it gives a tendency to put on

weight due to love for sweets . dhanu lagna gives a tendency for baldness.

Saturn makes the native a loner. a tendency to hide emotions and feelings, which

makes him look stoic and even hard hearted.

Mars gives a squarish and muscular built, short stature and also gives short

temper.

Health on the whole will be good due to lagna lords aspect on lagna. Mars is

also a functional benefic and should contribute to a quick recovery in case of

illness.

2.Explain the reason for the exaltation and ownership signs of all the planets,

See lesson # 4 as a reference.

Ans: Sun – the representative of the lord Narayana, the significator of the

soul gets exalted in mesha which represents the head of the kalapurusha. The

start of mesha also represents the brahmarandra (said to be the seat of pure

consciousness). Sun represents this light of consciousness astrology hence mesha

is the natural rasi for it to be exalted.

Moon – represents the mind (which is a reflection of consciousness) is exalted

in Taurus because Taurus represents the eyes of the kalapurusha and we know that

the mind follows the eyes. The image in the eye is but a reflection of outer

object that the eye is trying to perceive.

Taurus also rules the mouth of the kalapurusha. It represents the sustenance

required for consciousness to manifest and be perpetuated. Moon representing the

soma mentioned in the Vedic texts naturally gets exalted here.

Rahu: Gemini is the sign where duality starts (It is the only sign in the bha

chakra which has a pair of humans as its image) rahu representing Maya at its

worst will naturally be exalted in this sign where delusion starts.Strife and

dissension starts only between two or more people or group. Rahu is happiest

here as he has full scope to show his varied skills and talents.

Jupiter: it represents the jeeva and kark represents the heart. The place of the

jeevatma is said to be the heart. The jeeva is most comfortable when it is happy

and karka is the natural rasi for happiness in the rasi chakra.(gives an image

of the jeeva happily growing in the mothers womb ,little concerned with the

outside world.)

Mercury: kanya represents the virgin mother earth happily providing (in

abundance) for all her children – as shown by the corn and fire in her hands.

Mercury represents the various avatars of the lord who take birth whenever

mother earth is in trouble. This is his divine promise which he has never failed

to keep. Kanya is the natural sixth house (the shadripu).the sixth also

represents service- the many avatars of the lord are born to perform the service

of cleansing the world of the darker forces.

We get an image of lord shri Krishna expounding the sublimest of truth in his

immortal song, not in any hermitage but bang in the middle of a war( of world

war scale), in the center of the battle field.(just visualizing the scene makes

your hair stand on its end)

Saturn :the dispenser of divine justice, giving each person bitter sweet

experience in a totally impartial manner will naturally get exalted in the sign

of the Balance.

Ketu: The renunciate will be naturally exalted in dhanu the naisargika dharma

sthana. Dhanus also shows the transformation of the animal to a human. It also

shows one pointed concentration on the penultimate goal (which is one of the

first requirement in nivrritti marg).

Mars: the natural exaltation sign for raw energy represented by mars would be

the tenth house of karma (makara rasi the natural tenth house) mars is a warrior

so he must be exalted in his arch enemy’s house.

Venus: where will mahalaxmi be exalted if not at her lord’s feet (Pisces),

which she is ever serving?

3.Take the dual rasis owned by the non-luminous planets and compare the

characteristics of their two rasis. Find out how the lordship gets altered for

these two rasis because of the difference in characteristics.

ANS:The dual ownership of non-luminous planets shows the play of polarity. the

two sides of a coin, which makes the coin a manifested reality.

a)The active and the passive side of the planet get reflected in the masculine

and feminine signs, which it owns.

b)The elements balance each other in the two signs so that there is no imbalance

created.

Mars = mesha- gives vent to anger

Vrischika-trying to control the anger or let it shimmer inside.

Mesha is fire whereas vrischika is water.

Venus= vrishabha- producer

Tula – seller.

Tula is air, which shows movement or distribution. Whereas vrishabha

is earth which shows stability.

Mercury= Gemini –talk, communicate

Kanya- learn, listen.

Jupiter= Dhanus- Dharma, a goal, a path.

Meena – the final destination, the cessation of all goals.

Saturn= Capricorn- toil, hard work.

Aquarius-serve, help willingly.

Thanking Solai guruji and all SJVC Gurus for this excellent lesson and awaiting

corrections.

In Gratitude,

Vivek.v.shetty.
