HARE RAMA KRISHNA

OM GURAVE NAMAH

Pujya Gurudev and List members,

I have a lingering doubt in my mind for which I did not get an

answer when i posted a question regarding it some time age. My doubt

is :

The 27 nakshatras have the 9 planets as their lords in a cyclical

manner as per the Vimshottari dasa scheme. In the BPHS, the lordship

of the nakshatras have not been discussed till the chapter of Dasas.

But, many use Yogis and Avayogis based on the lordship of nakshatras

(Yogi is calculated from the lord of the nakshatra arrived at by the

yoga(sum) longitude of the sun and moon offset from Pushya

nakshatra). Shri Santhanam in his book "Predictive techniques in

hindu astrology" states that while the lordships of the rashis have

been discussed in the beginning of the book itself, the planetary

lordships have not been discussed till the chapter on dasas and

hence the planetary lordship of nakshatras is for the purpose of

dasa calculation only. This means that the yogi and avayogi planets

have no significance. Can someone please enlighten me as to whether

planetary lordships of nakshatras have to taken into account and if

not , what is the basis for calculation for the yogi and avayogi

planets (Shri Seshadri Iyer has used it extensively and states that

one cannot predict without proper application of yogi and avayogi

planets and their positions)

Your sisya
