The different deities(demi-gods) function as members of His executive. In the material world, some people prefer to meet the CEO directly and some prefer to go through the administration department to get their work done. All decisions happen under the sanction of the CEO. The case is the same in the spiritual world except that unlike the material world where the subordinates always scheme to overthrow their superiors, in the spiritual world everyone is engaged in serving Krishna. So, even if a person prays to Shiva and he reaches Shivaloka, after reaching there, Lord Siva becomes Dakshinamurthi and gives knowledge of the Supreme Lord Krishna to the devotees and He helps them to reach the Vaikuntha planets. The reason why the horoscope points out to different ishta-devathas is because of the different tendencies of the soul. Not everybody has the tendency to go along the path of least distance. All fingers are not equal.Jyotish remedies have to be given taking this into consideration. Please correct my understanding if i have misrepresented.ThanksK.N.Sriramsjvc, "Nisha M." <nishu_indiia> wrote:> > respected solaiji and other list members,> thanks a lot for such precious information and quenching my doubts. but the thirst of knowledge is increasing exponentially day by day. since i joined this list i read about choosing ishta devata and palan devata according to one's chart. but my father always told me that according to Geeta "Vasudev Sarvam" and unanimously "Krishnam vande jagatgurum" then why we should go for different deities and change our mode of pooja/araadhya just bcoz our horo says so? If one's ishta is hanumanji then would praying to Sri Krishna would be less effective as praying to hanumanji or laxmiji? I am confused why only the horoscopes' ishta would let u ahead in life? As you know many places we use interchangeably Krishna name to refer Vishnu. Here also it is used in that sense. In this context there is a puranic ancient story about Meenakshi and it is still celebrated as Mega annual festival in south Tamil Nadu. It is still a family function among thousands of families in and around Madurai. The story is: Meenakshi (Parvathi) is the sister of Alagar (Vishnu), who is residing at 20 KM away from Madurai. Meenakshi fell in love with Sokkar (Shiva) and they decided to marry in Madurai city and sent a messenger to inform Alagar. Alagar started his journey to attend the marriage. However, he was little bit delayed and the muhurta fixed for the marriage has approached. As a customary, the father or brother of the bride should officially hand over the bride to the bridegroom. As the time was running out for muhurta, they asked Meenakshi's uncle, Perumal (again another Vishnu expansion) to hand over. Later by hearing this, Alagar got angry and he took bath in Vaigai river and without going the Madurai city he roamed around and he reached his place after two months. All these three deities have their own temples and the same story scenes are repeated every year. Even now, people carry Alagar in palanquin by walk. Most thrilling event is the Alagar taking bath in the river, which happens on the Chitra Poornima (Full moon in Aries month). This year event has just been finished. So, in India there are so many branch Puranic stories apart from the great epics of Ramayan and Mahabarat. One among them is this sister - brother relationship of Vishnu and Parvathi. Guest guest
HARE RAMA KRISHNA OM GURAVE NAMAH Ms.Nisha, Thanks for inspiring us by your bhakthi to Lord Krishna. There is a verse "om ajnanaa thimirandhasya jnanajana shalaakaya.chaksurunmilitham yena tasmai sri gurave namah".this verse means "I offer my respectful obeisances unto my spiritual master, who has opened my eyes, which were blinded by the darkness of ignorance, with the torchlight of knowledge"(translation by Srila Prabhupad). So only, the Guru can guide us and I am not a qualified guru. Gurudev Sanjay Rath has given a set of procedures to progress on the spiritual path in his book "Vedic Remedies in Astrology" in Appendix- 1 titled "Spiritual Discpline". The vidhi is given in that book. As for mantra, Gurudev Sanjay Rath says that all Prasiddha mantras and those of Sri Krishna are suitable for everybody. Some of the mantras of Lord Krishna are: 1)HARE RAMA KRISHNA 2)HARE KRISHNA MAHA MANTRA - the mala mantra derived from (1) HARE KRISHNA HARE KRISHNA KRISHNA KRISHNA HARE HARE HARE RAMA HARE RAMA RAMA RAMA HARE HARE 3)KLIM KRISHNAYA NAMAH 4)OM NAMO BHAGAVATHE VASUDEVAYA 5)OM NAMO NARAYANAYA Gurudev has given a whole set of mantras in his book (in section 5.8 for Lord Krishna). The Janaka Shadakshari Mantra "HARE RAMA KRISHNA" is the mantra which Gurudev has instructed all of us to recite and meditate everyday . Hope the above helps.
