Dear Karu, Arun, Ashwin,

 

I am attaching a small something on the concept of Shakti which was

published in the Times of India, Delhi edition, 29th May, 1998. Its has

a very simple and preliminary overview suitable for beginners. I hope I

am not transgressing sjvc rules by posting this. Since all of you live

in the West at present, why not try for the books of John Woodroffe,

Thomas Coburn and David Kingsley. Coburn and Kingsley have specifically

written separate books on the Durga Saptashati and Karu, you will get

the 'basic' parameters that you were looking for.
