Guest guest
Dear Respected List Members, Every Samskr`tam text on Jyotisha talks about Kaala Purusha and his limbs asribed to various signs. I am wondering about Nakshatra-s and kaala Purusha limbs. Can anybody shed more light on this. PandiTa Sanjay can help us in this regard. Here is what I got from the following article on Yugaadi: http://www.sulekha.com/articledesc.asp?cid=189599 The following excerpt is from the above article. "India's ancient sages chose the straight line between meshaadi and Chitraa nakshatra in the sky as a marker in deciding the new year's day. Why so? The basis for this convention is found in the Veda mantra-s, particularly in some Rik mantra-s and nakshatrasooktam mantra-s. Nakshatra-s of the Veda-s are described as the Cosmic Being's form (nakshatraaNi roopam); they manifest as lights of deva- devataa-s in this universe that has an organic life of its own. Yes, ancient sages proclaimed that we are in a living Universe, just as our modern cosmologists believe. Ashwini nakshatra-s are visualized as the mouth of that Almighty -- that one underlying indivisible Power permeating this universe -- name it what you wish -- Bhagawan, God, Allah, It, Nature, etc. Sun and Moon in our vicinity (and elsewhere) are the Purusha-prakr`ti symbols of That underlying One Power. The Kr`ttikaa-s are described as Its senses, skull is Mr`gasheersha, Aashleshaa is the belly, Hasta-s are hands, Proshtapada-s (Bhaadrapada-s) are legs, Revati-s form feet, etc. The cosmic feet touches the cosmic mouth in this brahmaanda just as with a human baby in the embryo (brahmaanda = biggest ever egg; uni-verse = the only one whole indivisible song)" In Purushasooktam, it is said "ashwinau vyaaptam" - the two Ashwini-s form mouth (of the Kaala Purusha). On Krittikaa, the mantra-s say "nakshatram devamindriyam", etc. We need to hunt in the Veda-s for more. Best Regards, Venkates'wara Reddy

Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah ------------------------ Dear Jagmeet, This is the naisargika Nara Chakra. try making the same with your Janma Nakshatra as the head and list your body parts. Then you can easily strengthen each part using a suitable mantra from the 108 (27 nakshatra X 4 pada) names of Bhagavan. Guest guest
Respected Gurudeva, Attached is a list of body parts and nakashtras from various sources.Narda Purana and Varahamira lists match GURUDEVA:This is the naisargika Nara Chakra. try making the same with your Janma Nakshatra as the head and list your body parts. As per your reply I have made a list of the body parts by taking Janam Nakashtra as the head.I have actually shifted Ashlesha in front of HEAD and others have been moved up in the same sequence as they are as per Narad Puran NARAD PURAN JANAM NAK=ASHLESA ASHVINI BOTH KNEES PUSHYA BHARNI HEAD ASHELSHA KRITTIKA WAIST MAGHA ROHINI BOTH LEGS P.PHALUGNI MIRGSIRA TWO EYES U.PHALUGNI ARDRA HAIR HASTA PUNARVASU FINGERS CHITRA PUSHYA MOUTH SWATI ASHELSHA NAILS VISHAKA MAGHA NOSE ANURADHA P.PHALUGNI PRIVATE PARTS JYESTHA U.PHALUGNI PTIVATE PARTS MOOLA HASTA TWO HANDS P.ASHADA CHITRA FOREHEAD U.ASHADA SWATI TEETH SHRAVANA VISHAKA BOTH UPPER LIMBS DHANISTA ANURADHA HEART SHATBHISA JYESTHA TONGUE P.BHADRAPAD MOOLA BOTH FEET U.BHADRAPAD P.ASHADA BOTH THIGHS REVATTI U.ASHADA BOTH THIGHS ASHVINI SHRAVANA TWO EARS BHARNI DHANISTA BACK KRITTIKA SHATBHISA CHIN ROHINI P.BHADRAPAD TWO SIDES OF BODY MIRGSIRA U.BHADRAPAD TWO SIDES OF BODY ARDRA REVATTI BOTH ARMPITS PUNARVASU Is it the correct method to make the list?
