Guest guest
Pranam It is after a long time that i am interacting with you and for the first time on the list. In the mail below you have mentioned "functional benefics & malefics - they cloud your thinking". But then if i read the books of Dr. B.V.Raman, the learned author at many times had given the reference while analysing a chart to the Functional Benefics and Malefics. So, they do have importance and significance in the analysis if i am not mistaken. Also "The beneficience gets greatly modified by placement and aspects". . So, if a Functional Benefic who naturally is a Malefic( Like Saturn for Gemini Ascendant) is placed in a Kendra/Trikona (Say 5th House Tula) will act as benefical for the horoscope. Again the concept of Functionality comes in picture. Hence, would you mind clarifying whether they should be considered or not and what importance /weightage they should be given in analysis. Or what i am thinking is absolutely wrong. Kindly Pardon me if it is so as my knowledge is limited and i am just a beginner. Guru's/ Senior Member's kindly comment on the above. And, there are only three natural Yogakarakas ( VE for CP & AQ, MA for CA & LE, SA for TA & LI) - other Yaogakarakas are based on placements & Kevala/ Yogada status. Reg. Marakas, your logic is not at all clear - they have to be lords of 2H & 7H, or planets closely associated with them. Hope the above helps. Gurus, please correct me. Guest guest
Dear Ashwin, Maybe I was not clear enough. All I want to conevy is that functional beneficience is not end-all, cure-all. It very often happens that, as beginners, we stop at 'x' planet is a functinal benefic and therefore everything associated with it will be good, forgetting that this is only one factor. Placement, aspects, conjunctions, strength, etc. are also very important and should be studied properly. What will be the results of a benefic, under papakartari yoga?? Or a malefic involved in Vipareeta Raj Yoga?? You are not wrong - in fact you are right but it is only a part of the truth. Also remember that, ultimately the natiral beneficience of the planet prevails - JU will always do good and SA will ultimately give some sorrow and setbacks. Sanjay ji and other Gurus have been stressing upon us to always remember that. Best wishes Shailesh - Ashwin Hirani sjvc Saturday, April 27, 2002 1:26 PM [sjvc] Func.
