Guruji,

 

Please find my answers to assignment 2 .My answers are limited by my

thoughts and I shall be thankful for any inputs/corrections.

 

ques1.Reg Role of GOD in your life:

 

ans 1. Based upon my personal experiences ,I can say that "Narayan"

has always been active in my life through various signs and proofs.

 

a.I "see" God as the "invisible" side of my being.I understand him as

one wave of life flowing through every small event in my life....

 

b.I see God as "some one who creates order around everything in my

life.I believe that all seemingly random events in my life must have

had some sense.

 

c.God has been my refuge and strength when I am "down" and make me

lose "fear" whenever it comes in any disguised form.I am lucky to

have received most intuitive responses when I needed them.

 

d.God has given me the ability to find sense of purpose and meaning

of life. .God has given me several seeds of opportunities to help me

with my goals...

 

e.God has touched me in the form of my parents,gurus a loving life-

companion and increased my capacity of love ,compassion and

joy......and to share it with others.....

 

f.God is the source of some miracles in my life...after my near death

experience in 92-93 I understand "meaning ful coincidences " in my

life..He has been a great "healer" too....

 

I truly thank him for his many "expressions" in my life.....

 

Ques2.What have you done to get closer to GOD(past one year)

 

Ans. My simple reply to this is---"I did not do anything" - He has

lived through me and HE has willed through me.HE did most things so

that I am closer to HIM.I simply made basic efforts to reach out to

him.....and they were all slowly answered..........and continue to be

that way......I simply searched within.

 

Speaking of past 1-1.5 years from another view,I have had a chance to

meet living links of "Akkalkot Swami Samarth" in Maharashtra namely

Shakatai Agate-(from whom I received"Shaktipat Diksha"),Nana

Gadre,Sunanda Tai.I also received "Omkar sadhana diksha from another

GURU from Nath Sampradaya and I am trying to practice it.......I

have been reading "Durga Saptasati" and now started "Vishnu

Sahastranaam (although I do not understand the meanings fully of all

slokas) .I have also had a chance to visit lots of places of

pilgramages eg Vaishno devi in north India and Maharashtra and

hyderabad..Currently I am in US for some time and continuing to

read,interact and learn more .....and hope SJVC helps me in

developing deeper understanding.......as GURU is the only way to lead

to GOD.

 

ques3.Which statement is more relevant" GOD is all or all is GOD"?

 

ans3.I feel that they are "mirror images" of one another. ALL is

dissolved in him and HE is dissolved in "All" .

 

All is a link and a bridge to move deep into GOD and GOD is the link

to ALL.All that "is here now" and "has been" and will be " is GOD and

GOD is ALL that is here now and has been and will be.

 

I guess one of the purposes of this question is to make us wiser in

our thoughts and also "be responsible" in our action after an

introspection..

 

ques 4.How is the role of a jyotishi different from a priest?

 

ans4.Although the 2 roles have been complimentary in the ancient

times ,some of the differences can be seen from the following

points:

 

a.A jyotish is like a scientist,someone who

observes,experiments,critically tests ,systematizes knowledge under

general principles.A priest on the other hand, helps in performing

the rituals as per the specifications as the outcome of valuable

research.

 

b.A jyotish is a Dwaivajna and helps in undersatnding about our karma

whereas the preist helps in performing remedies to reduce karmic debt.

 

c.An astrologer has multifunctional roles as as therapist,adviser or

a doctor whereas a priest cleanses through the applications of the

techniques and principles.

 

d.An astrologer may assume a responsibilty of inspiration,upliftment

and enlightenment,therby leaving a person with insight or

undersatnding where as a priest is likely to see inspiration as more

purely an emotional feeling of uplif and dedication.

 

e.A priest(which as I understand comes from the word Presbyter

meaning elder ) in an "expression form " of the "scholar form" of the

astrologer.

I simpler words therefore a priest is a boat and an an astrologer is

the anchor.

 

However these two roles are not at cross purposes,and priest and

astrologers can work together to help a person to reach "HIM"
