I can't understand some concept in the sjvc, because I have now only Brihat Parashara Hora Shastram & Crux of Vedic Astrology . Here I sending response to lesson 4. "5th house lord Saturn is in Lagna Kendra " - it means that we have two Lagnas - Kanya or Tula. If lagna is Tula, it means that Lord of Karma bhava is Chandra. Chandra is neecha in Vrischik. "Jupiter is transiting on the Janma Rasi at present". Guru now in Mithun - therefore we must have Chandra in Mithun. If Lagna is Kanya, it means that Lord of Karma bhava is Buddha, neecha in Meen, "Karmasthanathipathy (10th lord) is neecha (debilitated) and its dispositor is placed along with the 12th lord, who is in strength." We have Vyaya's Lord Surya. Surya strong in Mesh (exalt.) and Simha (own). Surya can't be in Mesh because of long distance from Buddha, so Surya is in Simha (with Guru). "2nd and 8th lords are having Samasaptaka parivarthana (mutual exchange)" 2nd Lord is Shukra and 8th is Mangala, so we have Shukra in Randhra Bhava and Mangala in Dhana Bhava. So, Guru has been in Mithun in 1990, 1978, 1966, 1954; in Mesh -around 1988, 1976, 1964, 1952 Shani has been in Vrishabha in 1972 and 1942; in Kanya - around 1981 and 1952 Now we have a year of birth - about 1954 Surya in Mesh - birth took place about end of April - start of May. I´m sure that you will see that is very dificult to me write in English I´m a Isckon devotee,I take this body in a far land from your India,(Peru) but living now in Panama. I see your Question.I will try to response it. The lord of the five house in the Lagna.It would be Virgo or Libra,but like you said that guru is transit for the posicion of the moon now,the Lagna only would be Kanya.Mercury in the seven house(neecha),Guru with the 12 Lord Who is exaltade.This is Mesha for the 12 Lord and Jupiter.There is a exchange between Sukra and Mars so Venus is in the 8 and Mangal in Libra.To say the day exactly is very difficult to me now because I´m writing for the university where don´t have a program to calculate it accurate but I´m triyig to do some calculs with the mind.Sani was in Kanya aproximately 20 years ago but Guru wasn´t in mesha so we have to go 30 years more.So I think (excuse me ,but I like to answer as soon as i can)that the date is about April 1952. But, your exercise is very interesting and so i am writing the reply to it. 1) Saturn is 5th lord for Kanya and Thula Lagna.If the Lagna were Thula, the 10th lord who is Chandra will be in Scorpio(debilitated) and hence janma Rasi would have been Scorpio. But, this contradicts the statement that Jupiter is transiting Janma Rasi now (Jupiter is in Gemini now). Therefore lagna is Kanya with Sani in it. 2)By virtue of above reason, Guru transiting in Gemini now implies that Chandra in natal chart is in Gemini. 3)10th lord in debility implies that Budha is in Pisces 4) Dispositor of 10th lord is Jupiter. He is placed along with 12th lord - Sun. 5)Sun in strength means that Sun can be in Leo, Aries , or in Gemini ( 10th house Digbala).As Budha is in Pisces (confirmed), Sun can be max 23 degrees from Budha and hence he has to be in Aquarius , Pisces or Aries.As Aries fits our earlier shortlisted group, Sun and Jupiter are in Aries. 6)2nd and 7th lord in samasaptaka and parivarthana means that venus and mars are in aries and libra respectively or taurus and scorpio respectively.Also, the data of Guru in Aries and Sani in Virgo at the same time can help us in getting the year of birth.Guru was in Aries during 2000-2001(June - June approx).Going back in steps of 12 years, we find that in 1952, Guru was in Aries and Sani was in Virgo.Since Sun is in Aries, the birth should be between April 15 th to May 15th approximately. Venus in Aries in parivarthana with Mars (retrogade) in Libra. Lagna Lord's dispositor Jupiter with Exalted Sun in Aries. DOB: April/27-29/1952. Is the debt problem because 6th lord is saturn and aflicts the ascendant and it's lord as well as lagna lord debilitated with no strength. And Ketu Dasa running shows their effect in 6th/12th axis?
