Guest guest
Namaste Zoran, Brendan, Frank & Visti, I have been closely following the discussions on Badhakesh & nakshatra dispositors and have the following doubts and request your help. 1. Some time back I was discussing in SJVC why Mercury as Badhakesh placed in 9th house for Sagittarius lagna is not giving me any trouble (not that I miss it!) during his antardasa. Infact he’s flooding me with all good things in life. Ofcourse, he’s yogakaraka as he’s the 7th &10th lord with the 9th lord. Could the badhakesh aspect be minimum as he’s in the 12th from AL? Or is his yogakaraka status overruling his badhakesh role? But then, judging from AL (Virgo), won’t Jupiter become the badhakesh? Or is the badhakesh determined only from lagna? If enemies are to be judged mostly from AL, shouldn’t badhakesh also be judged mainly from AL, as the soul is above troubles & enemities? I am really confused about this & know I am missing a link somewhere. Please help me out. 2. Visti (bless him!) wrote in one of the mails that if the badhakesh is situated in 9th house, it indicates that the deity indicated by the planet had been neglected in the previous birth. For me it’s Mercury, so should I pray to Lord Vishnu to mitigate this bad effect? In such a case, will praying to the Ishta devata also help? Or should I start worshipping one of the Vishnu avatars, as indicated by Ishta Devata planet, which is Moon in my case? 3. Re: nakshatra dispositors, in my chart Lagna, Sun, Moon, Mercury, Saturn & Rahu are all in Venus’s constellations. But Venus herself is in Sun’s constellation. Since it is Rahu-Mercury (extremely beneficial) running right now, should I consider that this dasa is giving the results of a) Venus in 10th house (AL)? a) Jupiter who causes the neechabhanga of Venus ( I thought this will fructify in Guru Mahadasa) b) Sun (9th lord in 9th), who is not only the nakshatra dispositor of Venus, but also the rasi dispositor of Rahu & Mercury. Where I should stop, with Venus or Jupiter or Sun ? I have a terrible feeling that I have gone into a loop. And, sorry for this barrage of the questions, but then that’s one of the side-effects of having Mercury in the 9th, I think! Thanks in anticipation. Guest guest
Dear Lakshmi, I told you that your Mercury would give DharmaKarma Yoga thus would act excellently. You can also watch badhakesh from AL of course. Lagna is not only the soul, it is the body(physique) see Parashara. 6th from Lagna would give diseases and shadripu. Real enemies in the form of people are mostly seen from A6 and Arudha Lagna. If your Ishtadevata is Moon, then it is Radharani or Shri Laksmi, female deity. -- Zoran Radosavljevic Jyotish Teacher at Shri Jagannath Vedic Centre mails: ahimsa ahimsa web address: http://www.sjvc.co.yu
Guest guest
Namaste Zoran, Thanks for the reply. So, I can take that the badhakesh aspect is overridden if the badhakesh's also a strong yogakaraka. My personal Ishta devata is Lalitha Tripura Sundari and thanks to the guidance given by Sanjay Gurudeva, I started chanting "Lakshmi Sahasranamam" from the past 6 months, and I can say that the "gains" have been really remarkable after that. You've not touched the nakshatra dispositors aspect, perhaps because I am not yet ready for that knowledge. I respect your decision, and will wait for the lesson to happen. Guest guest
Dear Mayapur, Moon rules the Mother Divine. It is true that Moon in exaltation is often refered to Shri Krishna while in Cancer as Shri Rama... I don't actually think that Moon can signify Shri Krishna. Perhaps, Sanjay may correct me if I am wrong. Guest guest
om gurave namah------------------------Dear Zoran & Mayapur, There are nine planets and ten major directions of life. Each of these planets can tell so many things depending on the direction one chooses. There are the eight plane directions and one vertical upward and one vertical downward. The question you both make is a doubt that can be resolved so long as you stick to these directions, else confusion will prevail. The deities are associated with directions of life and in each direction there are many deities. Let us consider two directions to clear your doubts. Case-1: The North Western direction is ruled by the Moon. The digpala or guardian deity paving this path is Soma the God ruling nectar or Amrita that gives immortality. Hence the Moon gives good health and strength and long life. The ultimate deity of people in this direction of life is the Divine Mother (Parvati or Durga) Who wants all Her children to be healthy and strong like Kartikeya, intelligent and free from vices like Ganesha and away from the sorrow of Saturn. Thus the deity indicated by the Moon shall be the divine mother. There can be many other deities in this direction like the deity giving good crops, pure food and all types of foods and good things that give strength which shall be indicated by the various planets associated with the Moon. there are many people aspiring for this work. Doctors who also help in keeping the population of the world healthy and long lived belong to this direction and the planets indicating them are the MOON & Mercury (General physician) or MOON & Venus (Medicine), Moon & Mars (Surgeon) etc. The deities will be slightly modified as per the exact influence but the primary direction of Karma Yoga is North Western. such people would meditate facing the directions of their digpala and deities i.e. North-West to become perfect Karma Yogi. Case-2: Consider the vertical upward direction. This is ruled by Ketu the Moksha karaka. The digpala is Ananta a form of Vishnu and the Bhagavatam and all books say that worship of Vishnu gives Moksha. Now if the Moon is associated with this main direction, then the form is Krishna. If the Sun, it is Sri Ram, if Mars then Narasimha etc. Point is can we get Moksha dig straight away? No we cannot. Krishna advises the worship of the Mother before coming to Him. Hence people from Puri worship Vimala in the Jagannath temple before visiting Him. In the ISKCON temple they worship Radha and so on. Unless the Karma Yoga indicated by the eight plane directions is perfect, the gati to Bhagavan is very much hampered. Now, consider the case of a priest. He may think that by just worshipping Krishna he is getting Moksha, but that is wrong. He is first a priest and hence he has to do his duties in this world as a priest and become perfect in them. The direction is ruled by Jupiter i.e. the north-eastern direction. The deity in this direction is Isa or the Trident holder Shiva in the Guru-form. Thus, every priest has to learn to see Shiva as his Guru and that his own personal Guru is his Shiva. this is the great teaching of the Guru-Shisya parampara and the very meaning of the word Sadashiva. Thus by doing his duties to his Guru Maharaja and worshipping his Guru Maharaja, he is actually worshipping Isa (Shiva) and qualifying for the worship of Krishna. Mayapur das, now you will understand why I had insisted that your service to H.H.Sridhar Swamiji is of paramount importance over everything else. Without this worship and service to Guru, service to Isa will be lacking and all your Krishna Bhakti will become futile. there are many people who fail and fall in their Krishna Ayana due to this lack of service and Guru prayers. Thus, for ISKCON worshipping Srila Prabhupada and their personal guru is in the lines of worshipping Shiva. For this reason the explanation about Vyasadeva being the fruit of Shiva to Parasara is very apt. Thus, Ista davata should be prescribed depending on the Ayana and the 12th from karakamsa. This should be sufficient to clarify.
