This applies to both rasi dispositors and nakshatra dispositors. A very good example... the nakshatra dispositor of Gulika is referred to as Gulika dasa and is said to be dangerous for the native. So if Gulika (or Maandi for that matter) is in Rahu's nakshatra, and the native enters Rahu dasa, then is it referred to as Gulika dasa and can be very dangerous for health and even the longevity of the native. Same applies to the dispositor of Roga Saham or the 8th lord or the lord of 64th navamsa or 22nd drekkana. The dispositor of these will carry some element of danger, obstruction, etc. Dispositors of functional benefics will bring good in the dasa period of the dispositor and activate the promise of the functional benefic. In evaluating exalted planets, we must always take the dispositor into account. It may be weak and poorly placed and the exaltation may be ruined as a result. There are some reference in the classical works that tell us that the placement of the dispositor in the navamsa must also be evaluated!! Guest guest
Namaste, can one of the Guru's spend a few minutes on dispositors - that is, it's application and spiritual influence in one's chart: My understanding from several emails traded and reading is the following: 1. Definition Graha A is in a Rasi ruled by Graha B (this placement can be in main chart or any Varga chart). Graha B then is dispositor of Graha A. If in main chart Graha B is in an angle, trine, and not combust retrograde etc.significations of A are positively enhanced. The reverse holds true, that is if Graha B is in placed in 3rd, 6,8th, or 12th significations are negatively impacted. 2. My questions: a. How does disposters influence? and what strength do they have? b. Do disposters in Raj Yogas or others e.g. Dhgana , Naabhasa, Ravi, etc. add strength? or tell some additional info about the yoga's outcome and power? c. How is the dispositorship related to the charakaraka's if any - e.g. Atmakaraka as a dispositor for Pik, or AmK, do this change the influence? d. are there any rule of thumb that can be applied to Disposters? 3., I have read Zordan's article on this http://www.sjvc.org/Articles/dispositor.htm and ask for additional clarity and application Thank you and Pranams, Shanti, Shanti Shanti! Guest guest
Dear Brendan/Frank, If you remember, I wrote an article on dispositors for Jyotish news. Dipositor is of utmost importance for all planetary sigfnications. For example when dispositor of Lagna lord is placed in dusthana, in its dasha it would severely damage the health and well being. If nakshatra dispositor of lagna lord is placed in dusthana, it would damage the fortunes, and affect a person on a mental level. If navamsa dispositor of lagna lord is placed in dusthana, the dharma would suffer. Very subtle bad influences would be felt in the matter of inner strength both physical and mental, and the fortunes would be affected considerably. So, one cannot judge the chart without analyses of dispositors. Classical texts mentiones many yogas which come to play in case of dispositors being exalted...Dipositors can cause both neecha bhanga, and "uchcha bhanga" in case of exalted grahas, as Brendan, nicely pointed out. Pay special attention to subhapati (dispositor of Chandra) and Lagnapati (lord of Lagna), when they are associated particularly in favourable houses from lagna and Arudha lagna, success is promises, and Pushkal Yoga formed.
