Dispositors - insight into this concept

Dispositors are vital in Jyotish and can never be ignored. This applies to

both rasi dispositors and nakshatra dispositors. A very good example... the

account. It may be weak and poorly placed and the exaltation may be ruined as

a result.

 

There are some reference in the classical works that tell us that the

placement of the dispositor in the navamsa must also be evaluated!!

1. Definition

Graha A is in a Rasi ruled by Graha B (this placement can be in main chart or

any Varga chart).

Graha B then is dispositor of Graha A.

2. My questions:

Dear Brendan/Frank,

If you remember, I wrote an article on dispositors for Jyotish news.

Dipositor is of utmost importance for all planetary sigfnications. For

example when dispositor of Lagna lord is placed in dusthana, in its dasha it

would severely damage the health and well being. If nakshatra dispositor of

lagna

lord is placed in dusthana, it would damage the fortunes, and affect a person on

a mental level. If navamsa dispositor of lagna lord is placed in dusthana, the

dharma would suffer. Very subtle bad influences would be felt in the matter of

inner strength both physical and mental, and the fortunes would be affected

considerably. So, one cannot judge the chart without analyses of dispositors.

Classical texts mentiones many yogas which come to play in case of dispositors

being exalted...Dipositors can cause both neecha bhanga, and "uchcha bhanga" in

case of exalted grahas, as Brendan, nicely pointed out. Pay special attention to

subhapati (dispositor of Chandra) and Lagnapati (lord of Lagna), when they are

associated particularly in favourable houses from lagna and Arudha lagna,

success

is promises, and Pushkal Yoga formed.
