Kindly note that mercury gives writing career if he is strong,

independent and in shadvargas and especially in D10 or dasamsa chart

also. My father is an electrical engineer and he has the same

combination as you have. he is also scorpio lagna. did he become a

writer no. it all depends on mercury's strength and as we all know

that he takes on the charecteristics of the planet that he is with.

 

He shuld be strong in shadvargas. ALso presence of laksmi yogas etc

would help.
