Guest guest Posted January 31, 2002 Report Share Posted January 31, 2002 I am yet to learn how to judge a chart's basic potential, ie the platform formed by various planets playing with each other. I need to do this, before learning their specific manifestations in dasas, etc. Hence, this is a 2 part exercise, concentrating more on the 1st part (ie appearance, its internal counterpart= health, external personality, & its internal counterpart= internal drivers), on my own chart. Much time has gone into thinking deeply about myself, & what my close friends think about me, to enable me to isolate only the KEY differentiating facts & significant events only – & try to correlate these to the most important astro-configurations in my chart. I have ignored nakshatras, arudhs (except AL), charakarakas, d-charts, etc, as the basic idea was to "squeeze the orange" to understand what the basic astro-variables were trying to tell me, instead of running away with a shotgun-use-all-variables approach (dangerous in the hands of an astrology-kindergartener, as it would then justify everything). However, I am very unsatisfied with this attempt. And at guard, that I have fitted facts using wrong logic as it has suited me. Anyway, here it is, for whatever it is worth. It is enclosed as a Word doc, as formats go haywire in e-media (office machine, so no virus fears: only 3 pages). As the Net medium has its inherent constraints, I was wondering if there is a learned member of this group in Bombay, whom I could meet, who could explain my this attempt in greater detail to me, as an initial KICK-OFF to learning astrology. (My SIL complains that she cannot relax even on weekends because my brother is so dressy). My take on this is that there must be some association between L1, H1 and L10, H10 to give this - 1st is physical appearance, 10th is reputation etc. My mother has L1 with L10 in the 5th house. My brother has L1 Mars aspecting L10 from the 7th house by Planetary Aspect(PA). If I look at at my mother's chart taking 9th house (3rd child) as first house, L1 Moon is with L10 Mars in 9th! If I take someone who is absolutely the opposite, my husband, his L1 is in the 6th and L10 in the 4th. No aspect by PA or SA. Same with my chart, and I too am known in my family for being the same. Till I went to university I used to live in my uncles' cast off trousers and shirts. In your chart, Me is L1/10. It does not however aspect either H1 or H10. Would the combustion cause a lack of interest in being prominent, appearance with the sun(H1) dominating the interest? In my case Me is L1 but is in H1. I am very particular about what I wear but more in terms of what feels comfortable to me than appeals to others - very self focused as L1 in H1 can be. I always know exactly what I like and dislike. My husband on the other hand has L1 in H6 - it is like pulling teeth to get him to express a preference. He does have them, but is quite unconscious of them - says "whatever you like", but that is not really true, just gets unhappy if it does not suit.
