Guest guest
Hare Rama Krishna, Pranam Guru Sanjay & Solai, Here are my answers to lesson 4: 1. Using your own chart identify the sign each planet is in, state if the planet is in its own sign, exaltation, detriment or moolatrikona. List the sign and degree placements of each planet. House Sign Planet Degree Remarks ----- ------ ------ ------ ---------------------------- Asc Sagittarius 4:01 Moon 18:01 4th Pieses Rahu 17:34 5th Aries Saturn® 1:33 Debilitated, Retrogade 8th Cancer Mars 24:18 Debilitated 9th Leo Sun 16:31 Moolatrikona Jupiter 21:31 10th Virgo Mercury 7:33 Exalted Venus 6:41 Debilitated Ketu 17:34 2. There are different characters of each planet is mentioned through out the lesson. Identify from your own chart, at least one character of each planet from your Rasi and Navamsa and write how does it influence you during its dasa or antardasa. Jupiter – Lord of lagna & chandra lagna, and in ninth house. Optimism, Joy, love for the Divine are some of the attributes that I would attribute to Jupiter in my chart. On the physical side there is a tendency to put on weight, fondness of sweets both of which I think could be attributed to Jupiter. Interest in sports. As far as I remember, antardasas of Jupiter have always been fairly happy. Thursday is among my favorite days of the week, which is also governed by Jupiter. Rahu – In Piesces (4th house): Rahu is in Jupiter's sign and receives aspects from two benefics (Ve & Me). Thus, Rahu would normally promote the significations of the lord of the house it is in (Jupiter). From my observations antardasas of Rahu have been similar to those of Jupiter though more materially focussed. A heightened interest in technical matters, which may fall under the domain of Rahu. Moon – In Sagittarius (1st house) & aspected by Jupiter. Moon provides sensitivity and a caring attitude. Also as the Moon like Jupiter is a Sattvic planet it imparts faith, love and surrender. Tendency to procrastinate & a "happy go lucky" attitude which I think could also be attributed to the Moon. I got married in Moon/Me (Moon aspects 7th house). My health did suffer in Moon/Moon & Moon/Mars, which may have something to do with the fact that the Moon rules the 8th house and is the dispositor of Mars. Saturn – In Aries (5th house): Receives 9th aspect of Jupiter. Saturn is debilitated, retrograde & vargottama. Endows with a sense of discipline, detachment & seriousness. I've definitely felt the additional focus, discipline and patience that is required in antardasas of Saturn. An observation that I've had is that Saturn can cause a lot of misery if you do not change your focus and stick to your errant ways but if you do he can provide great peace. A well known astrologer once mentioned that Saturn was one of the best planets in my chart. I did not quite understand this, however I remember Shri Sanjay writing that retrogade & debilitated malefics in a kona are a blessing. Am I quoting correctly? Mars – In Cancer (8th house): Mars is AK in my chart and is debilitated in Rashi chart. However, Mars is in 10th house (Aquarius) in Navamsa & 11th house (Scorpio) in D10. Mars mahadasa is in progress now and though it certainly has been difficult due to health complaints it has been good for my career. This illustrates an important principle to me that a planet which provides challenges in one sphere of life can also provide for success in another. Sun – In Leo, Moolatrikona (9th house): Sun is own house and is dispositor of Lagna lord Jupiter. Sun endows with ambition, confidence & humility. Mahadasa of Sun was good for education. Ketu – In Virgo (10th house): Ketu is in 10th house with 10th lord Mercury. Sub periods of Ketu have been good for education. Venus – In Virgo (10th house): Conjunct with Mercury & debilitated. Venus has NeechaBhanga as it is in a kona and its dispositor (Me) is exalted in a kona. Also Venus & Mercury have their positions reversed in the Navamsa with Venus exalted & Mercury debilitated. Thus both the planets support each other. Venus bestows Love for Krishna, aspiration to the good, beautiful & pure. Mercury – In Virgo (10th house): Conjunct with Venus & exalted. Provides clarity of ideas & expression. Capacity for negotiation in a fair, practical and impartial manner. As far as I can recollect, antardasas of Mercury have been fairly happy.
