Let noble thoughts come to us from every side

- Rig-Veda, 1-89-i

Namaste

Before answering the questions, I would ask that we reconsider a few pieces

ofinformation that was provided:1. Sani - the producer of death... Sani is the

producer of Longevity. Sanjay teaches Mangala is the chief Rudra and is

responsible for death. ( page 5)

2. Def 21 ( Period of life ) page 13 - Sanjay teaches that different planets

govern the growth periods of life and a re different for male and female

BOTH 1 and 2 above are found in Sanjay's tape on Nakshatra's , London conf in Sept 2001.

3. Sound of ea. planet - page 16 - Note that Budha and Guru are shown as exactly the same...

As I understand it ( From Vedic Remedies in Astrology, page 408-409 , the

following sounds are associated with:

a, Buddha

TA, TTA, DA, DDA, NA

b. Guru

THA, THHA, DA, DHA, NA

A slight variation, but worth noting.

If I am in error on any subject matter above, let the more knowledgeable person

correct me accordingly.

2. There are different characters of each planet is mentionedthrough out the

lesson. Identify from your own chart, at least onecharacter of each planet from

your Rasi and Navamsa and write howdoes it influences you during its dasa or

antardasa.

For Vimshottari Dasa Running now: Sani-Mercury

1. Vimshottari runs 6 levels: Sanjay teaches that the 6 levels are:

Gross level of Spirit-Mind-Lagna, the finer level of Spirit-Mind-Lagna which

makes adjustments and changes to the first 3 levels.

Vimshottari is based upon Chandra/Nakshatra - which timings to events are

happening NOW. Vimshottari also tells you on how you respond to the environment

that is presented to you ( Narayana Dasa is that dasa systemthat shows you how

the environment comes to the native)

2. Looking at the the Graha's characteristics - and where they reside in

relationship to the Sun (Karaka for Atma or Spirit)

Moon( karaka for Mind) and Lagna for Body.

a. Dasa Period of the Sun:

Sun is in the 9th house A trine, ( Bhagya Bhava or House of Fortune) and 5th

from AL - and is natural Karaka of the 9th yet do not suffer from Karaka bhava

nasa i.e. Surya does not damage the significations of the 9th. Surya is Atma

and Natural Atmakaraka ( and resides with Buddha who is Chara AK in the 9th).

Surya is king, Satvik, male and therefore affected by what he does, He looks up

( and therefore ambitious), Ravi is found in Temples and therefore should be at

home in the 9th house. During the Dasa Of Sun, pursuit of spiritual aspirations

( Self realization) , Right action taken since this is Dharma Bhava.... and

perhaps recognition by the government. Also , trips to temples should be

expected.

AND - Surya is Vargottama in Navamsa , adding strength to Cancer sign, enjoying

the best division of Cancer and being positioned in the 11th from Lagnamasa,

and 5th from Karakamsa.

NOTE that the Mahadasa of Ravi will most likely not be experienced by me in this

lifetime - it's due 2061 or when I am 109.

b. Dasa of Chandra:

Chandra is in a Kendra, the 7th house - Jaya Bhava - and is in Moolatrikona of

Rohini Nakshatra. Chandra owns the mind, is queen, is satvic by nature, female

and therefore affected by feelings ( highly sensitive) and discriminates through

feeling.

Cleanliness is is of import due to Chandra's white color, gazes evenly ( or is

content), resides in watery places.

Chandra is also Vargottama in Navamsa - getting the best division of the sign or

Taurus, and resides in the 9th house in Navamsa.

During the Maha dasa of Chandra - one would expect to visit watery places, (

lakes, pools, etc), be highly sensitive to surroundings, be concerned about

cleanliness, be MINDFUL of Jeeva.

Chandra Dasa ran from 1952 to 1957 or the first 5 years of my life. Nurturing of

mother was important.

c. Dasa of Mars

Mangala resides in the 12th house Vyaya Bhava - is co-owner of Lagna with Ketu.

Mar's is strength, fire, energy and looks forcompetition. Mar's has great

will-power and like to be the chief. Because Mar's is tama sic, during the dasa

of Mar's one can expect fights, enemies, and accidents. Yet Mar's being in the

12tha house of loss, and being the owner of Lagna , one can expect lord of the

self or spiritual journey to being during this energetic period... which was

the case for me starting in 1957 and ever since.

Mar's in the 12th is also graced by Guru's aspect and Moons aspect on it to

create a few positive yoga's to unfold.

d.Dasa of Mercury

Buddha is in the 9th house A trine, ( Bhagya Bhava or House of Fortune) and 5th

from AL and is AK... residing with Surya,

natural AK, and Venus ( MahaYogada). Mercury represents intellectual capacity,

curious, rajasic or is compelled to act.

Mercury along with Venus look sideways, awaiting to receive more information to act upon.

During Budha's dasa ( which I am in Sub-period of Sani-Mercury) - intellectual

curiosity is prevalent and was

a major change from dullness of wit during Sani-Sani periods just before Sani -Budha.

Intellectual capacity for new ideas have returned. Mercury Mahadasa will start

in 2017 and I should be around to experience this.

( based upon longevity of 3 pars technique reviewed in Chapt 2, Quarter 1 of Updadesa Sutras)

e. Dasa of Guru

Guru is in 6th house Satyu Bhava ( a Upachaya or growth over time house) and a

major dusthana or harmful house.

Therefore Guru should grow in strength over time...

Guru is Expansion - Guru is Brihaspiti, wisdom, happiness and administers

wisdom. Guru is Satvik, is masculine, optimistic, and is of even mind. Jupiter

resides in treasuries and therefore associated with wealth.

During Jupiter dasa one can expect expansion of wisdom, knowledge, wealth, and abundance.

Jupiter dasa ran from 1982-1998 and gave mixed results... as with any dasa ,

according to Sanjay, the total period is divided into 3rds....and the results

of the periods are then determined - at least this is what I understand for

Narayan dasa.

f. Dasa of Venus

Sukra is located in the 9th house A trine, ( Bhagya Bhava or House of Fortune)

and 5th from AL and is MahaYogada.

Venus is full of worldly wisdom ( street smarts), enjoys the senses, is rajasic

by nature and is compelled to act. Venus is female

and sensitive, affected by feelings and will strive for pleasure, love and the

expression of love. Venus looks sideways, and therefore awaits something new (

pleasures).

During the dasa of Sukra one would expect the expansion of worldly pleasures,

sense gratification, and emotional/sense stimulus.

This should occur stating in 2041.

g. Dasa of Sani ( I am knee deep in this dasa)

Sani resides in the 11th or Ayaya Bhava - house of profits ( and owns the 3rd and 4th houses).

Sani is karaka for grief ( plenty of this during the initial dasa period) is

tamasic which dulls the mind. Sani is the chief cause of

delays, obstructions, [ Sani looks downward and therefore find it difficult to

move forward to complete task, brings inertia, things get postponed at the

last minute or actions do not bear maximum fruit.

Sani is a hard worker ( laborer), find in less then clean areas ( junk yards,

garbage dumps, etc). Sani as being neuter has discrimination, does actions

that may be distasteful but ultimately results beneficially.

Sani dasa should be filled with delays and obstructions ( YES), there can be

some self worth and self esteem issues ( YES).

There may be visits to filthy places or more work done in these areas ( NONE to date).

Sani transiting AL, 12th,1,2 from Natal Chandra in my chart has cause serious

grief over the last 8 yrs. Sani is now transiting over natal Chandra and will

move on to the 2nd from Chandra or 8th from Lagna.... more to follow.

h. Dasa of Rahu

Rahu resides in the 3rd house Sahaja Bhava or house of siblings.

Rahu according to many acts like Sani and co-rules Aquarius. Rahu is the

explorer and conqueror of new territory. Rahu is tamasic, looks downward,

resides in darkness.

During the dasa of Rahu one may explore, may experiment with drugs, may look

inward to the sub-conscious or look to "dark" places. During this period there

can be confusion, a period of lies or falsehood, etc.

Dasa period ran 1964-1982.

Rahu gives special aspect on the 2 house ( 12th counter-zodiac) and aspects the

4th house....Rahu dasa had poor results for mother during this full period. As

it also aspected the 11th house it negatively affected elder sibling.

i. Dasa of Ketu

Keti resides in in the 9th house A trine, ( Bhagya Bhava or House of Fortune) and 5th from AL.

Ketu is co-owner of Lagna and resides with Surya, Sukra, Budha. Ketu is

Tamasic, w/o a head, is considered good for the ascetic ( removed from

society, inconspicuous, etc) and the pursuit of Moksha, so it's location in the

9th is favorable.

Ketu prefers secured and established places... home , and being in Cancer, draws

this out even more.

Ketu with Mercury in Navamsa and in Pisces is good for seeking Moksha ( according to Jamini).

Ketu dasa - one should experience that pursuit for Moksha, the desire to be

inconspicuous. There could be periods of intense moods.
