Guest guest
Namaste. Thanks for the thought provoking Lesson-4. My answers follow: 1. Using your own chart identify the sign each planet is in, state if the planet is in its own sign, exaltation, detriment or moolatrikona. List the sign and degree placements of each planet. Location Sign Planet Degree placement Remarks Ascendant Sagittarius 25 39’ Jupiter 0 41’ Moolatrikona Saturn ® 18 41’ Moon 20 26’ 3rd House Aquarius Ketu 22 28’ 6th House Taurus Mars 25 44’ 9th House Leo Sun 15 38’ Moolatrikona Mercury 17 01’ Rahu 22 28’ 10th House Virgo Venus 4 58’ Debilitation 2. There are different characters of each planet is mentioned through out the lesson. Identify from your own chart, at least one character of each planet from your Rasi and Navamsa and write how does it influences you during its dasa or antardasa. Ans: Since the Janma Lagna & Chandra Lagna both happen to Dhanus, and with Guru & Chandra very much in Lagna, well, I look approximately like this.... My physical characteristics are predominantly Jupiterian. Moon as well as Venus (rasi drishti) also seem to influence the physical characteristics to some extent. Lagna lord Jupiter in lagna with waxing moon gives me unfailing optimism and buoyancy, along with an eternal love for reading and all forms of learning. Laughter & Learning are the twin passions of my life, and usually whoever comes to me is guaranteed to leave infected with a smile, and hopefully with a good thought. But Moon is with Saturn too, and the mind is often restless, introspective and stubborn. Moon(8th lord) with Jupiter & Saturn provides intuition, spirituality, wisdom(??) and renunciation. Chandra dasa was very benefic for spiritual, academic, career, marital matters and in general marked a period of all round prosperity and growth. I personally find Saturn in lagna a great blessing for bestowing good discipline. Ofcourse, he does give HARD work, but I guess that’s part of the game. What’s more, Saturn® also gives me the chance to serve my octogenarian parents and in-laws, thereby perhaps enabling me to discharge my karmic debt. I think that Jupiter’s conjunction with Moon (exaltation) & Saturn(debilitation) in lagna imparts a balanced disposition that’s swayed neither by compliments nor by criticism from others. The validation is always from The Light within, as is the direction. Ketu in the 3rd house reinforces the traits of Saturn (house lord) & Jupiter(nakshatra lord). I notice that all my Ketu antardasas brought me a lot of academic recognition. Ketu has given me the courage to seed new ideas, and pursue till they develop & eventually get implemented. The strongest planets in my chart are Jupiter & Sun, but it certainly does not mean that I am all sweetness & light. I do get very angry and impatient, though not very frequently, and when I do, God save the other party. Oh, I don't get vindictive and petty, but turn quite aggressive and I guess slightly pompous (HELP !) too, which is indeed a flaw. So that makes me an occasional pain. Martian navamsa lagna & Mars in 6th house in D1, perhaps? Mars (AK) dasa was quite tough but gave me valuable lessons in life and tremendous inner resilience. It sort of made what came later easier… Perhaps because of this strong Martian influence, ACTION & Actionable thought are very important to me and I can not usually endorse/appreciate that thought/philosophy, however exalted it might be, that does not result in karma yoga. Sun is in his own house, in the 9th along with combust Mercury and Rahu. Sun dasa gave me a good foundation in education and proficiency in playing Veena. I think houses 1 & 9, between them, admirably sum up my priorities in life. At present running Rahu-Mercury dasa, which initiated interest in astrology. I found Rahu dasa to be very good on spiritual, health, wealth, career & happiness fronts so far, touch wood! Incidentally, Mars-Rahu & Rahu-Rahu brought me my two sons. Venus in 10th (Virgo) is debilitated. Venus-Jupiter-Saturn dasa was running when I was born a premature child and had some problems till I completed 3 months. Infact, till I turned 3-4 years old, I led quite an adventurous (!) life, managing to eat poison, fall down the stairs, get lost, almost get drowned etc. Ofcourse, after that I rarely fell ill, save for some minor irritants. It could be because Jupiter, Sun & Mars, are strong and give me strength to cope…. In general, my life has been full & Sunny and I have no complaints. The few unsavoury experiences in my life only made me more determined to find & give happiness wherever I can. For, “Ananda” is All & nothing else really matters. Guest guest
hare rama krishna This was a wonderful lesson. I wish to thank the gurus for the effort they are putting into teaching us. 1. Using your own chart identify the sign each planet is in, state if the planet is in its own sign, exaltation, detriment or moolatrikona. List the sign and degree placements of each planet. Jan 28 1980, 10:36 am GMT+3 29n20 47e59 Sun 13 Cp 57 Sravana 2 Moon 0 Ge 16 Mrigasira 3 Mercury 18 Cp 45 Sravana 3 Venus 21 Aq 13 Poorvabhadra 1 R Mars 20 Le 49 Pubba 3 R Jupiter 14 Le 59 Pubba 1 R Saturn 3 Vi 1 Uttara 2 R Rahu 6 Le 52 Makha 3 Ketu 6 Aq 52 Satabhisha 1 Rasi: No planets in own sign, exaltation, detriment or moolatrikona. Navamsa: Mercury and Saturn in own sign. Rahu and Ketu are exalted. Both Rasi & Navamsa have Aries lagna and Jupiter is vargottama in 5th. 2. There are different characters of each planet is mentioned through out the lesson. Identify from your own chart, at least one character of each planet from your Rasi and Navamsa and write how does it influences you during its dasa or antardasa. It is quite difficult to separate the influences of planets in any chart. In my chart it is even harder, because there is a very strong interaction between them in the 5th house. It contains Lagnadipathi Mars, AK Rahu and vargottama Jupiter. Venus and Ketu aspect by graha drishti. Sun and Mercury aspect by rasi drishti. Saturn and Moon have primary argala on it. Everyone influences the 5th house in a direct way. Mars - As lagna lord, he is cojoined with AL lord Jupiter and AK Rahu. Mars is the lord of 12th from AL. Jupiter is the 12th lord. I was born in Mars dasa in a foreign country. As a warrior and 8th lord, he gives knowledge of dark (martial arts, secret mantras) and occult matters (jyotish). In navamsa, he is conjunct Moon and gives mental strength. Rahu - Rahu governs black magic, and all things unconventional. I have a very unusual way of thinking. As he is AK and 11th lord, he gives knowledge of astrology in an orthodox tradition (conjunct Jupiter). In navamsa, exalted AK Rahu conjuct Mercury gives sharp discrimination ability. Jupiter - Looks evenly. Since Mars is very strong in my chart, I am usually to the point and come across as being brash. The beginning of Jupiter dasa has brought about a a very noticeable change in my temperment and outlook. In both rasi and navamsa, vargottama Jupiter in 5th gives poorvapunya. As 12th lord, he may effect foreign travels. Saturn - He is a neuter, and is downward looking. He causes delays and separation. Malefic Saturn is in the 10th from AL. He is the 10th lord in the 6th house. He will give some work related delays. Mercury - He is the crown-prince and is conjoined with king Sun. He does not yet have to rule the kingdom. He is in the 2nd from AL. In navamsa, he is in his own house with exalted AK Rahu. Mercury dasa will see material pursuits. Ketu - rules renunciation and the intuitive sense. Ketu conjoins the 2nd lord in the 11th (fruitful sign). The aspect from AK and 12th lord Jupiter shows growth of these indications. In navamsa, Ketu is in Sagittarius. Jupiter is in trines to it giving prosperity. Saturn has primary argala giving will-power. There will be succesful non-materialistic pursuits in this period. Venus - Death may take place during this period. For Aries lagna Venus is a maraka. Looking at the 3rd from AL, not only is Venus there (Aqu), but she is also the bhadakesh. Ketu joins Venus, and since both are benefics, this period should be very peaceful. Venus rules pleasures, and is the 2nd lord in the 11th (It is also the lord of the 11th from AL). Hence, this period should be good financially. Sun - Sun matures at 22 years of age. At this age, a person becomes independent. The period of Sun is that of career focus, and I have Sun in the 10th. Between 21-22, Sun in the 10th gave independence through a job in a well established company. The period of Sun (23-41) should be good for career. Moon - shows how we experience the world. Moon is the 4th lord in 3rd (12th from 4th). Taking Chandra Lagna, lagnadhipati Mercury, Sun, Jupiter and AK Rahu are all in the 3rd/8th. This shows mental worries and troubles at home. In navamsa, Moon is in the 7th (4th from 4th). It is aspected by trinal lords Jupiter (9th lord) and Sun (5th lord). Thus, all worries and troubles will be overcome. ajit -- Ajit Krishnan ajit http://www.csd.uwo.ca/~ajit
