Guest guest
OHM SHRI RAGAVENDRAYA NAMAH JAYA JAGANNATHA Namaste Nitish, Comments are given below under the name SOLAI: Thanks Solai Kannan Nitish:Guru Solai Ji and respected Gurus', This mail is in continuation with my past mail and I want to ask some more serious questions here. Since I am much devoted to the study of Jyotish, though not professionally practicing it, I have been able to maintain a skeptical outlook throughout my study. A lot of doubts emerged out of this study and I believe these can only be resolved through your able guidance and insight. 1.) First most obvious question is whether all these "different relationships" (that you mentioned in your reply) between two planets apply as well to all the divisional charts, despite of the fact that the divisional charts are just a mathematical derivation from the Rashi chart and planets don't have any longitudinal identity in divisional charts. SOLAI: (a)The influence is not only between the two planets, it is collective. (b)Regarding the divisional charts, it has two utility and it has two planes. 1. Vertical plane. For example, look at the enclosed excel sheet, where the divisional charts are placed in adjacent columns, (here I have taken only drekkana and navamsa for convenience), we can place all the divisional charts like this. As marked by the pink line, a planet will run through all the divisional charts, say in the given diagram, it runs through second drekkana and 4th navamsa. Each division has a meaning and character, which you have to read from the name and from books like Brihat Jataka. So, a planet's placement in all these divisional charts moulds the character of the planet. This is the basis for Vaishishakaamsa. 2. Horizontal plane. Here each divisional chart is considered as separate chart for separate Karakatwa. Say Saptamsa is for children, followers etc., Here the planetary placement is considered as a separate rasi chart with respect to the native's children. It is not different from Rasi, it is part and parcel of Rasi chart and Rasi chart supercedes divisional chart. It is only a fine tuning. In old radio boxes, you can see a separate tuning knob. Once, we selected a station, we have to rotate this knob for fine tuning. Without pin pointing the station area, if we rotate only the tuning knob, there is no use. Similarly, if there is no indication in Rasi, the result will not be there. Secondly, in order to have the accuracy on prediction, we need the divisional chart. Rasi chart may indicate the general profession. If you have changed your organisation, very often, the place and nature of organisations and timing of such change is easy with divisional chart. Thirdly, all those compounding or blending of the relationships can be done in the divisional charts, also. Especially, the rasi Dasa (in particular, Narayana Dasa) is very good with divisional charts. For argala, aspect, badhakesh and for so many other things, separate longitude is not necessary. My advice is have this understanding in your mind, and leave divisional chart for the time being. Concentrate on Rasi and Navamsa and once you become master with them, then you can go to divisional charts and you will feel easy to interpret. Nitish: 2.) Another thing, How to apply the concept of "sphutadrishti" (as mentioned in BPHS), which depends on the longitudinal identity of the planet, to divisional charts? SOLAI: That is for overall strength of the planet, which will remain same for divisional chart also. The bala or phala is one only. Nitish:In essence, there is no direct/visible equivalence between the Rashi chart and the divisional charts. So how are they to be used? SOLAI: I explained above. Plus, read, Crux of Vedic Astrology by our Gurudeva Pt.Sanjay Rath. Nitish: In my search for Jyotish knowledge and a desire for gaining much predictive power, I have read translations and explanations of some of the classic texts like BPHS,BHAVARTHA RATNAKAR,BHRIGU SAMHITA etc. and have also extensively read all the online articles from a large number of Jyotish sites (including all articles available on www.sjvc.org). My approach has been to take the Jyotish as a whole and thus understand the very fundamentals involved and naturally gain predictive power in the course. The explanations given and usage of divisional charts and other finer concepts like argala, karakamsh, arudha, karakatwa etc. is convincing, I still feel problems with making a prediction and a mix of both lack of right approach and confidence. In the end, I hope you have understood the problems I am currently encountering and will suggest a feasible solution. SOLAI: The secret lies not in the tools and techniques, it lies in the basics. But, many beginners jump to the advanced techniques, without understanding the basics. Nitish: Also, please check whether I am suitable candidate for Varahmihira list (I have already applied for this list but didn't get a response as yet). My Birth data is 12-12-1979,10:27 am, New Delhi, India. One more request is if you could get me the Avasthas (baladi, deepatadi, sabhadi) and Vaiseshikamsas(parijaatadi) of planets of my horoscope which Goravani Jyotish and other Jyotish softwares, that I have, do not do. Waiting for your reply, regards nitish P.S.(TO THE BEGINNERS) :- These queries are a bit more technical and personal but as I have not yet received the confirmation to my application to join Varahmihira, its the only list I am left with to pose my sincere queries. Thanks for patiently reading it all the way. SOLAI: You will not be admitted to Varahamihira now. Once, you cover the basics here in this SJVC list, Gurus of this list will forward your name to others Gurus. Then, you will be allotted a Guru and will be taken into Varahamihira class.
