Om Gurave Namah

----------------

Namaste Guruji,

This mail is a sequel to the various mails

(Zoran/Sailesh/Sanjayji) I found on Varahamihira

regarding "Guru". Finding the "right" guru is as

important as Ishtadevata in leading one to

emancipation. I have a little confusion in the matter,

which I am sure your guidance would clear.

Brief summary of the points in Varahamihira

discussion:

1) 9th lord in D1 indicates Diksha Guru

2)Navamsa lord of the 5th lord indicates Sikska Guru

3)chara Bhratri karaka also indicates guru.

While Diksha guru (spiritual Guru) is only one per

lifetime, siksha gurus (teachers of different

subjects)can be many.

Eg: In my chart, Sun is the 9th lord as well as the

Navamsa dispositor of Mars, 5th lord, and is in his

own sign in D1, so Sun indicates Diksha Guru as well

as the Siksha Guru.

True. Sri Satya Sai Baba(worshipped as Shiva guru-Sun)

is my Diksha Guru and as the Guru who initiated my

learning with "akshara-abhyasa", he's my primary

siksha Guru also.

Does the Chara Bhratri Karaka signify a)Diksha Guru b)

Siksha Guru c) both? If I remember correctly,

Bhratrikaraka is responsible for giving spiritual

direction to the native, hence most akin to Diksha

Guru. Am I right in thinking so?

Eg: In my chart, Saturn® is my Bhratri karaka and is

with Guru in lagna in D1 and with Budha in the 11th

house in Navamsa. Both Guru and Budha are in own

houses.

True. Saturn ® is the Atma Karaka of Gurudeva and

being associated with 2 planets very important for

Jyotish clearly points to him. And, it's during Budha

antardasa that I became a member of SJVC.

So, is Sanjayji my Diksha Guru or is he a Siksha guru

alone as far as Jyotish is concerned? I hope this

question is not misunderstood by the list, because

Sanjayji himself said on many occasions that it's

vital to understand this difference.

In a chart, how does one identify different siksha

gurus associated with different subjects? Or does the

term "siksha guru" mean "the teacher of the

predominant line of interest/activity" in a horoscope?

Waiting for your guidance.

I wish all of you a Merry Christmas.

Regards,

Lakshmi
