Here are my answers to Lesson 3

 

1. Which Graha should be given the over-lordship of this twelve-fold

division or the twelve signs of the zodiac and why?

 

The Sun should be given over-lordshop of the twelve-fold division. It

is said the the Sun is the face of Truth itself. The Sun is God, the

Divine incarnate in nature. The Vedas mention that the Sun is the

Atman, the Self of the entire universe. Thus the Sun is the lord of

the Bha-Chakra

 

2. Make a schematic representation of the Earth, Bha-Chakra with its

12 spokes and mark out the areas of Nara & Narayana.

 

Taking the earth as the center, Nara (finite) is the radius defined

by the Grahas. This limit is called the Saptama Dwipa which is the

area traversed by Saturn in its revolution. Narayana is a circle with

earth as its' center, whose radius is infinite. Thus Nara is

contained in Narayana. The 12 spokes of the Bha-Chakra is where the

circle is divided into 12 parts of 30 degrees. This is refered to as

the Rasi Chakra.

 

I have a question regarding the three Gunas. Both Saturn & Ketu have

predominantly Tamas guna, however at the same time both Saturn & Ketu

are said to by highly mystical. How does one resolve this apparent

contradiction?
