OHM SHRI RAGAVENDRAYA NAMAH

JAYA JAGANNATHA

Namaste Alexandra,

We are not going to remove any member from the list. We are forcing the members

to attempt the lessons for the benefit of the members. I am also a student

only. But, Gurudeva is spending his most of the time for teaching us. His time

will be justified only when more students learn with dedication. There are

certain circumstances, which are beyond our control, like what you have

mentioned and it is understandable. But, out of the 155 members, only 29 have

answered for lesson 3 and it is the 3rd week from the launching of the lesson.

Lessons are meant to ignite the fire in the members in learning. Just by

looking at the mails, we will never learn astrology. I feel sad that I didn't

start to learn Jyotish at very young age. Even if I had started at young age,

this birth will not be sufficient to learn even a tiny portion of Jyotish. So,

I request others to come out and interact with rest of the members by answering

the lessons.

Thanks

Solai Kannan

Vedic Class[sjvc] Lesson 2

Namaste Solaiji and Guarangaji

I sent this e mail sometime ago but I am not sure if it reached you. Since then

I had some problems with my computer which are now okay. We are in the process

of moving and there are boxes everywhere. At the end of Nov we also moved

offices and I have been doing a lot of overtime work. As a result my homework

is late and I would not be surprised if you decided to dismiss me from the

class! However if I am still okay I would be grateful for your comments. I

will also try to do Lesson 3.

Please accept my sincere apologies.

Alexandra

Here is my homework:

1. Define the role of God in your life

I believe that my soul is a small part of the Cosmic Energy = God. My purpose

on earth is to evolve my soul until it can reunite with the Cosmic Energy -

however many reincarnations this takes. Then I may have the choice to come

back and assist others if I want to. I believe that before re-incarnation my

soul/spirit agreed along with other souls and the cosmic energy - on my Life

Plan/Contract. Once born into a physical body I am no longer aware of this

except when I get glimpses of it thru my Higher Self This way I learn my life

lessons. Therefore I do not believe I can change events in my physical life.

I believe I singed my contract in spirit and will fulfill it in this physical

life. Then when I die I will get a new contract and reincarnate until I am

evolved. So I believe God is in charge - however I am a Co-Creator in my

destiny.

I find that when I "Let go and Let God" things go much ;easier - but it is

difficult to do because it is my nature to worry. Yet if everything is as it

should be and predestined, then there is no need for regret about the past and

worry about the future. I have heard that enlightened beings can change or

accelerate their Karma - I don't know enough about it to say whether I believe

that or not.

2. In the past year and for some time I have prayed and particularly tried to

recite Mantras. I would like to be better at doing Mantras. TM does not suit

my personality. I would like to learn a method of meditation that uses

creativity and journeys into the unconcious. I have tried this and it works

well for my psychic readings. I like to use visual images in my meditations.

3. God is All geels more relevant to me. Maha Vishnu is the Imperceptible.

Shri Krishna is the Perceptible. Brahma is the Creator. All forms of life,

inanimate, human, animals, creatrues, Demi Gods, Devas and Asuras etc.

Everything we are conscious of and beyond our consciousness is God.

4. Role of Jyotisha and Priest are almost the same. Jyotisha shows the Atma

how to gain Gati to Liberation - shed Karma and gain Brahman Nirvana. A guide

and counsellor. A Priest does the same things.

5. Rather than delay this e mail further, please forgive me for not doing full

sanskrit dictionary.

Atma = soul

Veda = Knowledge

Jyoti = Light

Tapaysa = Penance, Good Deeds

Avidyamaya = Ignorance due to lack of knowledge

Vidyamaya = Knowledge of the Vedas and self.

Sincerely

Alexandra
