Guest guest
OHM SHRI RAGAVENDRAYA NAMAH JAYA JAGANNATHA Namaste Nandan, Thanks for this mail. I am not very active in the list. The reason is I am working on the lesson of Rasi. In that lesson I am not only going to cover the Rasi but a very vital points of interpretations, which is missing in all the advanced books. All the scriptures are juices and we have to expand them all. I am trying to put all these various points together. I cannot break it. If I break then the whole Idea of blending will be spoiled. But, what is in my mind requires a lot of work. I want to include a lot of charts and explanations, but then I will not finish even after a year. So, I am trying to stick to the main points. In fact I am preparing this lesson keeping you as the focal point. Because, in the past you have asked many question in this regard ( like what you have given below), which needs an elaborate explanation. I want to finish the lesson quickly, but Mars sitting in my lagna is not allowing me to work fast. Thanks Solai Kannan nandan.chakraborty (AT) ilfsindia (DOT) com [nandan.chakraborty (AT) ilfsindia (DOT) com]21 December 2001 9:21 AMTo: sjvcSubject: [sjvc] Relationship between planets Dear Solai GuruI was trying to go back to basics & read up to understand the basicmeanings of relationships between planets. I started reading 3 approaches,in all of which for simplicity, other considerations (ie house placement &lordship being ignored):1. BPHS: Planets in signs2. BPHS: Dasa-Antar results for planetary pairs3. Saravali: Conjunctions of planetary pairsI find that the basic meanings everywhere revolve mainly around a mergingof their separate natural significations, which are easy to understand, egSn-Ma or Sn in Ma's signs or their mutual dasa-bhuktis being to do withforceful stuff.HOWEVER, in the individual paras in the classics, strangely, I find severediversions from standard friend-enemy relations, which I would normallyexpect to have been incorporated in the individual paras relating to eachplanetary pair. Also, there are MANY MANY other inexplicable factsmentioned, strewn thru'out. There IS something missing in all this, whichprevents someone uninitiated trying to draw a method in all this. The otheroption is to mug all the divergences, which approach, Pt Rath has beat meon the knuckles for, previously. For example Pt Rath mentions Ve (Lakshmi)does well in the Guru Jp's lap (Sg= thighs), not with Ra/ St, whichasura-malefics carry her on their heads, & thus, while they gain wealth dueto natural friendship, they lose it ultimately. OTOH, in standard classics, these combinations are given as very good for wealth. What I mean is, thisis just one instance. There are many many inexplicable statements.Basically, what I am saying is: is it possible to have a detailed lesson onthis. I think this is THE fundamental lesson in basic astrology, & mostconfusions later, START from a wrong undrestanding of this.Note that house-placement & lordship-related interpretations are actuallymuch easier to understand than the above. And after that, is a whole hostof techniques & rules & caveats on all types of things in astrology. Butthis lesson is the ROOT of astrology. I wonder if you could think about alesson or more on this. Another humble suggestion: as many students in SJVC(unlike varahamihira) are more beginners (OR at least, desire to focus moreon the basic fundamentals first): in future lessons, could we allconcentrate on the SAME chart, unlike in advanced varahamihira List whereeach one uses & analyses a different example. Here, I personally feel, itwill be easier to fixate (& thus, probe deeper) into a single chart, fromeach other's interpretations, totruly fixate fundamentals instead offlitting chart paradigms to understand the plethora of factors instead, which IS the rightful focus of the varahamihira List.Due to certain personal reasons, I dont know, starting Feb 2002, whether Iwill get any time to spend on astrology or these Lists for atleast thefirst few months, till things settle down. I was wondering if you couldeven send me any 1/2 baked lesson on all this in advance - as I do havetime now (LOTS of it), for the next 2 weeks. Or any hints for me read up &understand this Basic better.PranamsNandanYour use of is subject to the
Guest guest
Dear Mr Dasgupta & other friends Thank you for the list. Actually I was talking about PURE relationships between planets & undiluted by effects of lordships & house-placements, which your list is actually about. Pure planetary relationships include meanings from classics in 3 areas: a) planetary positions in various signs (which is similar to being disposited by various planets), OR b) conjunctions between planets, or c) mutual dasa-antar effects. However, the point of writing THIS mail is different. Without meaning to in any way, detract from your effort in compiling your list of planets in various houses, & as lords, for the benefit of all of us, I MUST URGE most of us NOT to use lists like these at all. I wish to reiterate the point made in my previous e-mail. In all such meanings given, there are usually 3 basic rules: (note I am ignoring placement & ALL house-related matters, whether placement in a house, or a lordship, all of which would incorporate yogas, etc etc: That is, let's just take plain planet X in sign Y OR planet X conjoined to planet Y OR X's maha dasa with Y's antar, all these IN ISOLATION): a) natural friendships, etc Sn in Ar b) being in own/ exaltation, etc: eg Ma deb in Cn c) a merger of their natural meanings, eg fiery Sn with fiery Ma ignites Ma into say anger/ courage/ injury (as both natural malefics) The point is, there are MANY many things written in such definitions in the classics, which provide meanings which are inexplicable OR even contra, if you just use the above 3 generic rules. I cant even begin to enumerate the divergences. If u read these in any classic, u will find it yourself. So, there IS much that we do NOT understand, in finding a method to all this. It actually becomes much SIMPLER to explain, when u add on the complications of houses & placements. But just try reading the simple definitions of the 3 instances in the classics, & u will know what I am saying. OK. Let me give an example. Mars dasa lord with Moon antar, where a typical definition goes: hapiness fm children & friends; wealth from different & many sources, bilious trouble to self or mother. Lets analyse this. Ma (bile, anger, fiery, etc) with Moon (mother, wealth, watery, etc). They are mutual natural friends, inimical tattwas, for a start. Can u decipher ALL aspects of the above definition from any stretch of imagination, knowing what u do know about the 2 planets (IGNORE placements, lordships, etc, as the definition also ignores it). Why is the wealth from DIFFERENT sources, why is the happiness from CHILDREN ? And u will find this road-block whatever part of the classics u read. So there IS something we need guidance on, not lists. Something missing in our approach to learning Best wishes Nandan
