Guest guest
Hare Krishna. The next friday will be an anular eclipse in Costa Rica. Here exists the believe that a pregnant woman must no see it, because the child will have spots in the face. For the birth of Caitantya Mahaprabhu, it is known by me that an eclipse is inauspicios, but that i understand was that Rahu actualy try to "eat" Surya. But the eclipse will occur in Vrishchika, and the axis Rahu-Ketu falls in Mithuna-Dhanus. So i have two questions. The first is it is inauspicios or not an eclipse, and to see it. And the second is the rol of Rahu and Ketu in an eclipse, because i thougth, that was the reason that in India the sages could know when the eclipses will occur. Guest guest
Jaya Jagannatha Dear Arjuna Vallabha Prabhu, It is not auspicious to see the eclipse as it is not good to see other people in their weaker moments. Whether it is eclipse of Chaturthi, these are the positions of Curse for the luminaries and it is inauspicious to admire them. Similarly to admire the setting Sun will also bring downfall and death. At this time when the world is in darkness, the EYES OF JAGANNATH alone can see. So chant His name. Guest guest
OM SRI GURAVE NAMAH ===================== Respected Gurudev Pranams Your reference of setting sun reminds me of a part of my life. Please allow me to narrate it. When I was in Calcutta, every afternoon I used to go to the bank of the Ganges for almost four years. I used to spend there for almost three hours. Sitting on the steps of the bathing ghat, I watched the sunset. On seeing the sunset, a feeling gradually used to invade my mind: " one day I shall be here no more , the river , the Siva temple on the west bank will be there, and many many years after , perhaps these will be inexistent in manifestation." A strong sense of detachment gradually used to invade my whole being. My mind became quiet. In the sense of detachment and quietude, a strong and deep feeling rose up from inside: "If for once , I could have seen the eternal face of Sri Krishna - the One who is beyond this birth and death though involved in every movement of life." This was my usual feeling on seeing the setting sun. Though I loved it , somewhere there was also a feeling of pain in me. I did not know why. Was it due to the feeling of confrontation with the reality of death? Is it the reason of your writing Similarly to admire the setting Sun will also bring downfall and death.??? You also have written At this time when the world is in darkness, the EYES OF JAGANNATH alone can see. So chant His name. Gurudev, unknowingly , as you have written , I used to meditate on Sri Krishna-The Jagannath in those hours of darkness after sunset. with regards Your disciple Dilip. - Sanjay Rath sjvc Sunday, December 09, 2001 9:19 AM Re: [sjvc] An eclipse Jaya Jagannatha Dear Arjuna Vallabha Prabhu, It is not auspicious to see the eclipse as it is not good to see other people in their weaker moments.
