Guest guest
Namaste! I have a small list of Sanskrit Jyotish terms that I compiled from many sources. I don't know about the copyright for this. Somewhere I have a small Sanskrit-English word list (if I can still find it). It is similar to the Goravani List and of course there may be duplications. Some time I can go over both of these lists and compile a joint list. I am not a Sanskrit scholar nor a modern Sanskrit speaker. I have had a low level interest in Sanskrit and have a copy of a Sanskrit course from the American Sanskrit Institute. I do not have a Monier-Williams so I cannot verify meanings or root words etc. Majid Om Sri Ganapati Ki Jai!
Guest guest
Dear Majid, If you could please send me the lists that you have compiled from different sources, I could try to make an encyclopedia out of it. Regarding Sanskrit as a language, my own experience is that rather than from books, I learnt more from my Guruji, a school teacher by conversing with him a lot and asking questions etc. Although the process of learning stopped a while ago in the year 1989, the love for the language and the literature stays put as it was even in the absence of a Guru. As directed by Kannanji, let us make an effort to compile an encyclopedia for the benefit of the enthusiasts around us and see if we can keep on improving it regularly. I myself do not have any lists of terms or anything, but I can and would certainly like to make an effort in this direction. Hope you can help me in this.
