Namaste, Guru Solaiji,

Here are my replies to Lesson 2; thank you for reviewing them. I've been

looking for information on the Sanskrit terms and have found definitions for

most of them. However, some are eluding me, e.g., 'Rig' and 'Yajur'. I

will place the terms I can't find definitions for at the beginning of my

list when I submit it. Can you please help me with the terms I can't find

definitions for and correct/supplement the definitions for those I do find?

Thank you.

Namaste,

Beau

SJVC LESSON 2 -- Creation

================================================================================

1. Try to define the role of God in your life.

God is Who inspires love in my life, Who lovingly reminds me that

The Divine One is everywhere in every moment I choose to remember,

Who pulls at my heart and makes me ache with longing to be closer

to It. God is the reason for living, the goal of living, and the

motivator of my search for It's presence and beauty in everything,

including myself.

I strive to patiently find that place where the intellectual

statement that God plays every role in life becomes my actual

experience, to open my heart and connect with the Self in a fully

conscious way.

2. What have you done in the past one year to come closer to God?

I have continued my sadhana of meditation, japa, and looking for

The Divine in each person and place. I have also spent time in

joyful singing and taking quiet walks to feel It's presence. I

have begun my study of Jyotish. But the best activity of all, for

me, has been to cherish and love my children.

3. Which statement is more relevant:

(a) God is all, or

(b) All is God

Both state the same truth and are equivalent.

4. How is the role of a Jyotisha different from a priest?

I'm not very learned in the roles played by Hindu priests, so I

don't feel qualified to give an accurate answer. I have heard that

priests serve as examples of upright behavior for their neighbors and

constituency, teach and live the Truth, guide people towards the

Truth, are obedient to God, and intercede with God on

people's behalf through prayer and ceremonies such as yajnas.

From this, I don't see a difference between a Jyotisha's and a

priest's roles, except the performance of ceremonies by the

priest. They are both lovers and followers of God.
