Guest guest
Dear Solai, Namaste, sorry for this late answer. I agree that answering on the lessons on this list should be done with more swiftness and eagerness. That's the thing on which I must make more endeavor. There are the answers: 1) Try to define the role of God in your life. - I accept God as Supreme Being, person from which everything emanates, source of all sources. He is first person (Adi Purusha), the one without beginning and without end, all living beings are inseparable parts and parcels of Him. That is very nicely described in Bhagavad Gita, Srimad Bhagavatam and many other Vedic literatures. He is vibhu-atma (Super soul) and we, ordinary living beings, are anu-atma (or little parts of Super soul). So, we are subordinate to Him. Life should be dedicated to realizing the relationship with God and to learn to act in this relationship. When a person once realize his relationship with God he can act freely of all misconceptions born from material entanglement. Then we can say that he really act on the platform of soul, or that his soul is really acting in connection with God. Role of God in my life is like this (in a few words). I'm trying to establish relationship with Him and act with natural love toward Him. 2) What have you done in the past one year to come closer to God? - I chanted the holly names of God, associate with people who had similar aspiration and in his association I tried to develop more understanding of position and importance of knowing God. I'm reading literature which explains the nature of God, the process which is recommended to attain Him etc (Vedic literature, already mentioned, like B. Gita, Srimad Bhagavatam...). I'm trying to implement the instruction from the scriptures and from the realized souls and spiritual master in my life and connect all my activities to service to God. This is not easy, because like householder I have many responsibilities which seems do not have many connection with cultivating spiritual knowledge. I accept this responsibilities as service to Supreme and in this way I'm trying to fulfill my dharma. 3) Which statement is more relevant: - God is all, or - All is God. - I prefer statement "God is all". Beyond God there is nothing else. He is at the end of all ours searching's and enquiry. So, He is summum bonum of everything that exist, living or nonliving. 4) How is a role of a Jyotish different from a priest? - Difference is in the process that they are using. Jyotisha uses astrology and knowledge connected to it to help a person to advance toward satvik way of living, following dharma and religious principles and at the end to develop divine spiritual knowledge. Priest had same goal but uses different processes to attain it. Thank you, Solai. Darpaha Dasa.
