Sorry for speaking out of turn. 1. What's marana karaka sthana ? I came across this term in the recent posts. I also remember to have read somewhere in the previous posts that 3H is Jupiter's marana karaka sthana, 1H is Saturn's and 7H is Mars's (I hope I remember correctly). Could you please elaborate on this concept and what happens to the naisargika / functional karakatwas of planets (malefic/benefic) when these are placed in respective marana karaka sthanas? 2. Could there be a cancellation of such a placement, like, say, Neechabhanga? 3. Can any remedial action can be prescribed? Any book where I can get info. on these? Guest guest Posted November 20, 2001 Report Share Posted November 20, 2001 OHM SHRI RAGAVENDRAYA NAMAH JAYA JAGANNATHA Namaste Lakshmi, One of the finer techniques taught by Gurudeva Pt.Sanjay rath is this Maranakarakasthana. It is extensively used only by him and it works well. The main sloka is given in the Jataka Parijata, Chapter 17- Kalachakradasa, slokas 34-36. Maranakarakasthans for various planets are: Sun – 12th house, Moon – 8th house, Mars – 7th house, Mercury – 7th house, Jupiter – 3rd house, Venus – 6th house, Saturn – Lagna, Rahu – 9th house. These planets in these houses with low strength or with malefic influence bring grief to the native. For example, Venus in 6th brings grief through women and excessive passion. I have Saturn, Mars and Jupiter in Maranakarakasthana, and its obstructions are very strong in my progress. All these 3 have mutual rasi aspect. As indicated by Gurudeva in his reply to Samasaptaka position, I have the Saturn and Mars in 1-7th opposition. Plus, Venus, (the bathekesh in 9th bava in Rasi) also placed 6th in the Navamsa. I haven't seen any reference from Gurudeva's teaching about cancellation of Maranakarakasthana. I will also wait for more input from Gurudeva.
