Guest guest
Namaste! 1. God is a direct force of Jyoti in my life. Many years ago I had a stroke and "died" going eventually through many different layers of perception and eventually upon realizing I had no longer a physical body available I entered the White Light. After that experience I sought the same Presence in this life. This was not easy as I had to re-balance the three gunas according to this new insight. It took many years of suffering and struggle. 2. Each day is a day of Remembrance. Each moment is a reminder of the dichotomy between God and my daily experiences. I try to direct my attention to the Divine daily with prayers and other means of Remembrance. 3. Actually both as God is the same word and if God is the Creator of all things then it must be that God is inherent in all things and must be the supreme goal for all beings in Creation. 4. I don't have a lot of experience of Hindu priests though I have been initiated by two Gurus. My impression is that as a Jyotish one is more in the world and the priest tends to be "not of it." The only priest I have read about is Sri Ramakrishna and his level may be way above the norm. So my answer is a Jyotishi is an ethical practitioner of practical and spiritual counsel and a priest is a trained ritualist who attempts to intercede for the worshippers using time honoured rituals and prayers. 5. I have two ongoing lists: one is a list of Jyotish terms and the other is a mini sanskrit/english dictionary. Both were assembled from both my work and the work of many other people so must of necessity stay private. Om Sri Ganapati Ki Jai!
