Dear Gurudev

Let me understand what you said better (Reference provided below my

posting):

1. The nodes are not combust by the Sun & dont participate in yudh. So

obviously, this applies in the strength rules used for finding 3 things:

arudhs, co-lordships & dasa initiation.

2. In all the above 3 applications, we measure a) Ra's longitude from the

end of a sign, but b) Ke's longitude from the beginning of a sign as in all

other planets, c) other planets even if retro, from the beginning of a

sign.

Please correct my understanding

OM SRI GURAVE NAMAH

Dear Nandan,

The nodes are the cause of KALI in this yuga and to say that they do not

participate in warfare is preposterous. they are always fighting. they are

born to do just that chasing after the moon - Rahu always pulling the Moon

upwards and Ketu puling it down. Poor Moon - the curse of Ganesha must bear.

All nodes and planets are treated equally in war especially look out for

Mars & ketu and Jupiter and rahu..check the date when they crossed in battle

recently ..Sept 11 2001!

Best Regards

Dear Gurudev

I think there has been some lack of clarity in my earlier words/

miscommunication from my side. So let me re-write my question again, wrt

measuring longitudes of nodes from beginning/ end of sign, more clearly &

expanded:

1. Conjunction/ Combust/ Yudh: Of course the nodes eclipse all planets they

conjoin, as you rightly said. But that was just my point. That irrespective

of conjoining the Sun, they are not combust by the Sun. Similarly,

irrespective of being in a higher/ lower longitude vs any planet, they win

& eclipse that planet if they are in close conjunction. That is, in both

cases, the measuring of longitudes for the nodes is irrelevant in

combustion by Sun/ yudh with any of the 7 planets, for both nodes. IF I am

wrong & they also participate in yudh (ie not simply eclipse all planets

they conjoin, irrespective of the magnitude of the relative longitudes),

then am I to understand that only the higher longitude wins, EVEN if it is

the close conjunction is between a node & another planet - and, with higher

measured from BEGINNING of sign even for the nodes?

2. Jaimini strength rules where advancement of degrees used: Ra's longitude

is ALWAYS from end of sign. However, since in your Narayan Dasa book, only

Ra (& not both Nodes) was mentioned for such measuring being from end of

sign, I assumed that this applies only for Ra. It may just have been a

misprint in the book where the word Node should have been used, not Rahu.

So my question was asked given that background. Please confirm that this

measuring from end of sign is for both nodes.
