Guest guest
Pranaams to Panditji, Gurus of SJVC, Fellow students. My attempt to answer the assignments in SJVC Lesson 1. Q.1&2) The Earth rotates at its own axis which passes through the north & south poles, but this axis not being at a right angle to the path of revolution of the Earth around the Sun. it is at an angle, so the Earth is tilted to a side and revolves round the sun. The plane of Earths orbit around the sun forms a broad band around the equator, the northern end is the tropic of cancer & the southern end is called the tropic of Capricorn. When the Sun is on the southern most point of the ecliptic it is not visible in the North Pole. This date (22nd of Dec) when there is no sunrise for the whole day on the north pole and on this date there is no sunset on the South Pole. The same phenomenon is repeated in reverse on 21st July. This also varies the duration of day & night in rest parts of the world all the year round. This is one of the important factors in the change of the seasons. When the northern hemisphere experiences summer, it is winter in the southern hemisphere & vice versa due to difference in the duration of sunlight. I hope this answers the first two questions. Ans. to Q.3 Maharishi Parashara mentions two classes of heavenly bodies – The fixed stars that form the background on the stage called life. The constellations & Rasis show the environment or the backdrop on which the drama of Life is played. The moving bodies (Planets) show the changing influence or the characters in the play that influence events or are directly responsible to bring about a situation. In other words, the constellations represent space & the planets represent time. (Two necessary ingredients for an event to take place. Ans.to Q.4 Details: -DOB= Jun 02 1966. TOB = 21HRS 58 Min.
