Guest guest
FROM D.K.V.RAO LESSON 1. MY ANSWERS TO LESSON 1. Pranam guruji and others. Here are my answers to my first lesson which I am sorry, I am late to get at it. 1. Explain the changing of seasons and its connection with the above mentioned astronomical factors. Ans. Earth is considered a globe or spherical in nature which rotates around its own axis. The two ends of its poles are North Pole and South Pole. The earth is divided into two halves by an imaginary line called EQUATOR and hence the northern part of the equator is called Northern hemisphere and southern part of the equator is called Southern hemisphere. The motion of the sun causes changes of the seasons. When northern hemisphere faces summer, southern hemisphere faces winter vice versa. 2. There are some days of the year when the Sun either does not rise or set above certain parts of the globe. Please explain the phenomenon. Ans. Earth's rotation around its own axis and around the sun causes seasons. The sun's movement towards north/south hemispheres causes summer/winter in the north/southern hemispheres respectively. During its so journ in the half of the year towards northern hemisphere, particularly at the north pole, the day will be around six months long and during sun's movement towards southern hemisphere, it faces around six months long of nights due to the fact the earth's shape is globe/spherical. 3. Parasara mentions two classes of heavenly bodies, the moving and non moving. Please explain what will be the difference between their roles in the astrological interpretations. Ans. According to Parasura, there are two classes of heavenly bodies. One is non-moving or fixed i.e. Stars or Nakshatras and the other moving bodies i.e. Grahas or Planets. The latitude(Akshamsa) which is the angular distance from the equator towards north or south – which also determines sunrise and sunset gives day and night and another longitude(Rekhamsa) which is longitudinal division of earth into 360 degrees helps us determine where the Lagna falls i.e. which sign or nakshatra will be rising on the eastern horizon at the time of birth. These definitions helps in many ways in Jyothish interpretations. Many interpretations can be derived from fixed heavenly bodies i.e. Stars when the birth of a person will be fixed at the particular star and from which positions of planets-moving heavenly bodies can be determined and life style etc. can be predicted. 4. My own birth Chart. It is taken and copied from a computer output as I am yet to learn the construction of a birth chart etc. Lagna – 04-01 Vibra U. Phalguni 3 Sun - 14-58 Scorpio Anuradha 4 Moon - 23-59 Cancer Aslesha 3 Mars - 25-37 Sagittarius P.Shadha 4 Mercury - 00-44 Sagittarius Mula 1 Jupiter - 06-48 Acquaris Satabhisha 1 Venus - 19-07 Scorpio Jyestha 1 Saturn - 07-43 Vibra U.Phalguni 4 Rahu - 02-00 Pisces P.Bhadra 4 Ketu - 02-00 Vibra U.Phalguni 2 My place of birth is situated at 79 degrees 08' East of GM and 13 deg 13' North of GM. I can understand that 79E08 is longitude and 13N13 is latitude. Lagna is Vibra(kanya) and Birth star is Aslesha- pada3. Ayana is Dakshinayana. I can understand to that much and kindly enlighten me as to the placements of planets above the horizon and below the horizon.
