Guest guest
Dear Mr N Rao & Solai Guru Ref your Yogas' Ready Reckoner, What is Samasaptaka?: seems to be cjn (oops!: conjunction) or opposition, from translating it. If so, my real questions are: Is an opposition relationship good or bad? Or is it a mutual development (mutual co-worker) for either good/ bad (depending on the natural & functional significations of the 2 planets)? In many texts, this 1/7 relationship is mentioned as great in some contexts, & bad in others. Hence, am totally confused. Lets stretch this to all of the 6 possible mutual placements of 2 planets: 2/12, 3/11, 4/10, 5/9, 6/8, 7/1. Now lets add the confusion of temporal friends & enemies to this, ie t.friends= 2/3/4/10/11/12, ie the first 3 of the above placements, & t.enemies= the other 3. Which means that these COMPOUND relationships based on these are actually used in many texts. But WHERE are they used, & where not is very confusing. And just look at the above: a mutual kon relationship is BAD. But we are exhorted to see the kons to ANY planet for additional significations, as they are mutually supportive placements, I thought. So where am I confusing various issues? So, let me repeat 2 of my earlier questions in the above context: 1. Difference between occupying vs aspecting a house/ planet: Ref pg 428 CoVA: St occupying/ conjoining a house/ lord= decreases the longevity of the relevant signification of the house/ lord. BUT if St graha-aspects them (I suppose this holds true also for rasi-drishtis), it INCREASES their longevity, as St is the natural significator for longevity. This opposite result between occupying & aspecting a house, is unclear. Difference for different significations of the same house when being N houses away from it: DaraPada in 3/11 from AL= physical compatibility with partner, but bad for business prospects (why the difference?) ref pg 253 CoVA. Or: Ra/ Ke in 11= RajYoga & sudden gains in wealth respectively, but Ke in 11 also= bad friends. Why does Ke in 11 give good wealth (4/ 10 to/ from 2, 3/ 11 from/ to 9) but bad friends?
