OHM SHRI RAGAVENDRAYA NAMAH

JAYA JAGANNATHA

Namaste Dilip,

You asked a very important question. This gives me an opportunity to explain the

importance of learning basics.

What is given in standard texts like if planet x is placed in sign 'n' or nth

house is only a guidance. As you have mentioned the effect has to be analysed

in totality. For that we must have a complete basic knowledge of Planets,

signs, strengths etc.,

1. We should take into consideration all the influences on the karaka house and

karaka for the subject in question. How to weigh is what we are going to

discuss in the coming lessons. For example, if we are making coffee. We mix 2

spoon of sugar, 10ml of milk, 1 spoon of coffee powder and 50ml of hot water

and we know the taste of this mixer of coffee. When we alter the quantity and

quality of any of these component we can perceive or imagine how the taste will

change. Similarly, when we look at a chart and see the planetary positions we

must be able to tell the effects immediately.

For that we have to see the

1. nature of the sign,

2. nature of the sign lord,

3. nature of the sign lord's placement

4. aspects (rasi and graha) on the said house and its lord

5. strength of the sign and lord

6. strength of the planets posited in the sign

7. strength of the planets aspecting

8. nature and influence of the dasa planets

9. relationship of the planets influencing the sign

10. Various karaka of the subject in question and its influence

11. Analysing the sthana or house from the different lagna and Karaka planet.

12. Golcharam

These are the some points to consider without touching the divisional charts for a single question.

2. When we are looking at the strength we should look at the strength as a

subjective and variable factor. Not simply as Shadbala is 451.23 etc., To get

in to this level we have to practice and apply the knowledge. The most

important is the understanding of the planetary characters, sign characters and

their various strengths and avasthas and other influences of aspects and argala.

In all the texts these topics are covered in the beginning with small

explanations. But, we have to dwell in these topics for months and understand

the influence of all these. It is not so easy to grab all these things. You

might have seen from the mails and books of Gurudeva Pt.Sanjay Rath that from

the planets involved and signs involved, he used to pin point the exact person

or place involved in an incident. These things will not be given in standard

texts.

3. As I mentioned before, when we read standard texts, we should not take or

absorb the meanings literally. For example if it says " x planet in 2nd house

will give so and so result", we should think and understand why it is said like

this. This analysis is very important. When we go to lessons, each and every

sloka of BPHS and JUS, must be analysed in this regard. So, now on wards start

to look at the slokas in this angle and you all have to contribute, when the

time comes.

Dilip, I didn't give you a strait forward answer. But, in generality I

explained. I hope this helps you now. Question asked by you will be answered by

you when we go for lesson and analyse charts.

Thanks

Solai Kannan

OM SRI GURAVE NAMAH

----------------------

Respected Gurudev

Pranams

I have a request . Please have some discussion about how a planet give certain

results in a chart. Let me give an example to clear my point--

In a Jataka, Libra is rising. In his 2nd house there is Saturn and rahu , both

are in the nakshatra of saturn[anuradha ], and retrograde jupiter is aspecting

this combination from 10th house[Cancer], Venus and Ketu are in Taurus in the

8th house, so venus is also aspecting the rahu saturn conjunction from 8th

house. Mars ketu is in the 3rd house , so mars is aspecting Jupiter which again

is aspecting 2nd house having rahu saturn Combination.

1. At first let us see what will be the result of sat-rah in 2nd house.Should I proceed like this?--

a)result of rahu in 2nd house--Poor. Thievish, unclear speech, quarrelsome,

earns money through favours from King, etc.

b)result of saturn in 2nd house --Destitute,Lier, Disease of oral cavity, in

later years of life leaves place of residence and earns wealth.

c)result of saturn in Scorpio--Injury from fire, weapon or poisons; ill

tempered, insincere, suffers losses and illness, indulges in prohibited deeds,

etc.

d)Results of 4th lord in 2nd house-Owns property, proud, has big family,

courageous

e)results of 5th lord in 2nd house--versed in song and music, many sons ,

wealthy,renowned.

Now, as both sat and rah are in anuradha nakshatra, effect of saturn will predominate. Is it so?

please guide me in understanding the following things---

How nakshatra will modify the results?

How aspect of Lagna-lord and 8th lord Venus will modify the results?

How aspect of Jupiter, 3rd and 6th lord, will modify the results?

How these effects will be manifested in the Dasas of Rahu and saturn?

In this discussion , let the matter of the situation of Rahu and saturn in

Divisional Charts be kept aside for later discussion.

With Regards

Sincerely Yours

Dilip.
